Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Sarah Kirshbaum and I would like to formally introduce myself to you. I am in my
senior year at the University of Arizona and will be student teaching under the guidance of your
childs 4th grade teacher, Ms. Mendoza, this spring 2017 semester. During my student teaching, I
will be co-teaching with her and will consequently be an additional teacher of your child for the
remainder of the school year.
I grew up all over the Washington D.C. Region, spending most of my high school years in
Virginia. I have been living in Tucson Arizona for the past five years and plan to teach here in
Tucson after I graduate. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 7th grade so I am ecstatic to
be graduating this May. Besides teaching I love art. I spend most of my free time painting and
sketching. I hope to incorporate arts into the curriculum to help build enthusiasm towards their
education by developing their creative thinking skills through real life application.
Like I have said, I am very excited about this semester. I worked with your child last semester
during my practicum hours. I look forward to learn even more from your 4th grader this year. I
look forward to meeting you at parent conferences, love of reading week, or at school! Please
feel free to contact me with any question you may have about your child or questions you may
have for me. My email is sarahkirshbaum@email.arizona.edu. Thank you!
Sincerely,

Sarah Kirshbaum
