Dear Parents,

My name is Ms. Panek and I am a Pre-Service teacher. Ms. Miller will be

my supervising teacher during my practicum experience, where I will be teaching
and learning with your child(ren). My previous practicum experience has been at
Khowhemun Elementary in gr. K/1 and Lake Cowichan School in gr. 4/5.
Currently, I am a 5th year Bachelor of Education student at Vancouver Island
University, and I plan on becoming a certified elementary school teacher by June
2017. I will be in the classroom volunteering every Wednesday and on practicum
from Jan. 11th-13th/Feb.1st/Feb.6th-10th/April.3rd-May.12th
Some of the students may know of me already, as I work for the CVRDs
childcare and recreation programs in both the Shawnigan Lake and Kerry Park
divisions. I have obtained a diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care with
Special Needs and Infant Toddler and have over 6 years of experience working
within various childcare facilities. When I am not in school or working, I love to
do anything that involves physical activity, I particularly like hiking, yoga,
Brazilian jiu-jitsu, basketball, field hockey, and snowboarding!
I hope to plan informative, fun, and interactive lessons that are memorable
for the students during my time with them. I am so excited to be welcomed by
Bench Elementary School and feel fortunate to be learning from Ms. Miller. I look
forward to meeting you and the entire class.
