SUMMARY:
I am Kain Lucero and I have worked with young children extensively over the past
five to six years. I have been a youth kids baseball coach, an elementary school
tutor, a youth kids camp counselor, and over 150 hours in elementary school
classrooms.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Understand and aware of the different home backgrounds each child experiences.
I believe each child provides a unique skill to the classroom.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I have been named captain of my collegiate men's basketball team from 2014-2015.
I was head instruction of a summer basketball camp from 2014-2016. I am a
studious scholar and maintain a professionalism not only in the classroom but in
real world experiences as well.
EXPEREINCE:
Camp Counselor- June 2016-August 2016
K.I.D.S. Youth Camp- Pagosa Springs, Colorado
I was a youth kids camp counselor and my responsibilities included; managing a
large group of individuals, monitoring their medicinal needs, maintaining
responsibility for each child when we went on field trips. I also prepared snack and
brainstormed activities for the youth to participate in. I directed activities and was
an instructing for some activities.
Field Crew- May 2013-August 2016
Parks and Recreation- Pagosa Springs, Colorado
I maintenance baseball fields and contributed to repairing parks and baseball fields.
I also was a youth baseball and basketball referee. I connected with the youth on a
personal level through games and daily conversation. I watered fields and mowed
lawns as well.
Baby Sitter- February 2012-August 2016- Pagosa Springs, Colorado
I babysat children and was responsible for cleaning up, getting them to bed on time,
cooking lunch, dinner, and snack. I was also responsible for creating a personal
relationship with parents in the process.
Waiter- June 2011- August 2012
Junction Restaurant- Pagosa Springs, Colorado
I was responsible for taking people's food orders and bringing their food. I cleaned
up my side of the restaurant and completed other side jobs as well
EDUCATION:
Associate of Arts: Elementary Education
Otero Junior College- La Junta, Colorado
I attended Otero Junior college from 2013-2015. Graduated highest in my class and
maintained a 4.0 GPA both years in my time spent there. I completed course in
history, science, language arts, electives, education, and math, while also
participating on the men's basketball team. I made the honor roll both years.
Elementary Education
Fort Lewis College- Durango, Colorado
I am currently enrolled at Fort Lewis College with two semester remaining. I have
spent over 120 hours in elementary school classrooms and have taught lessons in
language arts, and technology. At Fort Lewis College I have taken all education
classes with aspirations of obtaining my teacher's license.
