LW-6
Applications

LW-6 is a low-density ceramic bead, with a specific gravity of 0.7. It is used to design cement slurries that can be
mixed from 8.5 to 14.0 ppg (1018.3 to1677.2 kg/m3) without additional water. LW-6 was developed for use
across weak formations where low hydrostatic pressure and high early compressive strength is required. It was
developed especially for primary cementing applications in wells not exceeding 6000 psi hydrostatic pressure.

Features
Lower Densities
Provides slurry densities as low as 8.5 ppg (1018.3 kg/m3).
Improves Strength
Compressive strengths are considerably higher than conventionally extended slurries.
Reduced Hydrostatic Pressure
Lower density slurries can be obtained to protect against lost circulation problems.
Compatibility
Compatible with all API cements and most cement additives.

Benefits
Provides a slurry with higher compressive strength than conventionally extended slurries.
Lower density slurries can prevent cement fallback and lost circulation problems.
Applicable for all lightweight cementing applications.

Safety Precautions
Work in a well-ventilated area and wear respiratory equipment and goggles. See Material Safety Data Sheet for
more information.

Limitations
LW-6 should not be used at pressures greater than 6000 psi hydrostatic pressure.

Competitive Products
Spherelite and D-124.
