Introduction
The global mobile phone industry has grown at a phenomenal rate in the past ten
years. There are now more mobile phones than people in many countries and the
escalating use of mobile broadband, facilitated by innovations such as the iPhone
are stressing the ability of the operators to support the required bandwidth.
Despite this growth graduate engineers find it difficult to secure positions as they lack
experience in the processes and the software tools commonly used in the industry.
TeleResources is one of the few independent Australian engineering companies
focused on this sector. We are the exclusive GLVWULEXWRU RI $WROO WKH UDGLR SODQQLQJ
tool used by large operators such as Telstra and VHA. We are also the provider of EDX
6LJQDO3URDQG6LJQDOXVHGE\PDQ\JRYHUQPHQWDQGSULYDWHVHFWRUEURDGFDVWHUV
and mobile radio networks. Our engineers have been involved in the design of the
latest 3G networks as well as emerging technologies such as WiMAX.
For this reason we have often been sought out by under graduates and graduates
alike wanting to get experience with our tools. However our ability to provide support
for interns has been limited and the value they have obtained from the period spent
with us has been heavily dependent on the time we have been able to spare.
To meet this demand we developed the three-week intensive training course %RRW
&DPSIRU5DGLR(QJLQHHUV. But recognising the difficulty that many have in physically
attending one of our courses we have also developed an abridged version that has
been structured to enable it to be presented over the Web. This course has been
designed specifically to meet the global need for practical radio planning training.
The course is based exclusively on the (';6LJQDO3URIDPLO\RISODQQLQJWRROV and as
an added benefit it includes a full copy of this software but locked to a particular
geographic area for the purpose of training. In this way participants can practice
with the tool in their own time and complete specific assignments included in the
training.
EDX is a global leader in radio planning tools with a number of 'firsts' to its name:

EDX propagation and planning tools have been used in more than 60 countries
worldwide for the successful design and deployment of wireless networks.
TeleResources distributes and supports EDX software and is an accredited provider of
training for their tools.

reference.

We use gotomeeting software to present the course requiring you only to log in with
the instructions that we provide in advance. No software is required on your
computer and with a VoIP connection there is no charge other than an Internet
connection.
Each three-hour module is priced at US$295 and must be paid for in advance. Either
direct bank transfer, or credit card payments are accepted.

Introduction to RF planning is taken first as it includes the basic information on the use
of the planning tool.
If all five modules are taken, and payment received in advance, then the one
module is provided free. This represents a 20% discount bringing the total price to
US$1,180.
