Dear Guardian(s),

This week, our class will be learning about art in the Western Hemisphere and connecting
artwork to the history and culture of countries within this region. As part of this, on February
10th, 2017 (Friday), we will be wrapping up our lesson by visiting the Museum of Modern Art
(MoMa) in Manhattan. The field trip will be staffed by their teacher, Mr. Beasley, and faculty
member Ms. Danvers.

This will give the class an opportunity to view more artists and connect the knowledge they have
gained throughout the week. Admission for your child is free. We will depart from Washburn
School of Arts at approximately 12:00 PM, after students have had the chance to give their
presentations, hang their self portraits, and enjoy an early lunch.

We will tour the museum until 3:00 PM, and then return to campus before the end of the school
day at 3:30 PM.

Students who do not attend the field trip will stay in study hall until the end of the school day;
attendance is still mandatory because we are giving presentations in the morning. The trip itself
is not mandatory and will not affect your childs grade.

Please sign below and return BY THURSDAY, March 30, 2017. Failure to do will be taken as
