Dear Mrs. Jankowski,

For my Senior Service Learning Project, I will be volunteering at Evansville Rescue Mission.
The Evansville Rescue Mission is the Tri-State area's oldest and largest ministry of it's kind.
The Evansville Rescue Mission is a non-denominational, Christian social service organization
reaching out to those often overlooked in societythe homeless (men over 18), troubled
teenagers, disadvantaged youth and impoverished families, living at or below the federal poverty
line. EMRs Mission statement states: We exist to glorify God by meeting the basic needs of
those we serve and by sharing with them the life-changing message that Jesus Saves.

My mentor is Sarah Scott, she is the Volunteer / Community Relations Coordinator. I havent
meet Sarah yet in person, but weve emailed. She seems happy and excited that Im volunteering
at EMR and making a difference in our community.

I intend on volunteering in the kitchen. I will help prep the food for the residents. I am also,
going to serve food to the residents. Another, task is kitchen cleanup after the food has been
served.

After reading The Glass Castle last year, it opened my eyes about my perception about the
homeless and impoverished. I realized that I could help make a difference in my community
while also bettering myself.

Sincerely,

Kaylee Dillman
