Subject: Inmate Death -- CRDF

Dear Mr. Levine,

Im writing you in response to your email sent to our Department on December 11,
2014, and forwarded to Homicide Bureau on todays date.

As the Departments response letter (dated December 23, 2014) stated, the
investigatory files are exempt from disclosure, but I will provide you with the
following information:

Uniform Reporting Number: 014-01613-5700-499

Date and time of incident: November 8, 2014 at 6:25 am.
Name, gender, race, and age: Unique Moore, female, African American, 37 years
old.
Location: Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF).
Synopsis: Inmate Moore died at the hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing
in her cell. Prior to her death, Moores cellmate activated the emergency call button
in their cell. A deputy responded and was told by the cellmate that Moore needed
her inhaler. Nursing staff was notified, and the deputy returned to Moores cell. She
was now unresponsive, but breathing. Medical staff responded and monitored
Moore. Paramedics were summoned. Moore was transported to the hospital where
she died.

She was arrested by LAPD on October 14, 2014, for possession of a controlled
substance. She was a resident of South Los Angeles.

The medical examiner ruled her death to be accidental due to a history of drug
use. There were some heath issues listed as contributing factors.

The autopsy report can be obtained through the Los Angeles County Department of
Medical Examiner-Coroner.

I hope this information assists you with your needs.

Sincerely,

Dave Dolson
