March Reading Month Ends Soon

It is March so it is March Reading Month all around the world including at SIS
Da Nang. The students have read altogether for about 144,500 minutes. The
schools goal this year is to reach 250,000 minutes. That means that the students
still have over 100,000 minutes to read but only 9 more days!

The person behind this March Reading Month is unknown, but the person who
started celebrating this event at SIS Da Nang is no other than Ms. Kathy, an
English teacher. Ms. Kathy started this event way back in 2012 with former
teacher Ms. Angie in SIS Da Nang, as a way for students to enjoy reading.

I think March Reading Month is important for students because it improves the
students reading and English skills. It is also a fun way for students to enjoy
reading and a way to encourage students to read more. The fun part about March
Reading Month is that it is Dr. Seusss birthday on March, so it is a coincidence
but that fact is more oriented towards younger children. said Ms. Kathy in an
interview.

The numbers have varied each year for reading minutes. In 2013, the students
have read over 55,000 minutes. The following year, 2014, the students have read
over 125,000 minutes!

This Year SIS Concert Theme

2017 concert theme is "Culture". Concert will sart at the end of the
year, every class have to choose a song to preform. This year we have
2-3 month for the whole school to prepare.
"K pop is personally my favourite kind of music! So we decided that this year
Concert song for Y8 is a K pop song!" Said by a Y8 student during the interview.

Gold Team Won In Sport
Day 2017

On the last Friday at sis school, gold team
won red team in desperate. Sport day
started at 8:30 am and end at 12:00 am
Vietnamese time at SIS Da Nang. At first
Red team won a lot of games, but in the
last few minutes, Gold team won by
dominated Tunnel Ball, Basketball and
Penalty shot against Red team. With the
score 7/5, this year sport day was very
close for both team.
A lot of students through out the school
were exhausted but all of them enjoyed
sport day!. "Sport day was fun and good
for your health!" Said by a student of SIS
during the interview.

Yesterday, the Green Monday campaign
just came to the SIS school, it is all about
how people live and eat in the healthy lif
The presentation started at 8:15 am until
10am, the fact was how can we make a
healthier life.
The people behind this campaign are
Francis Ngai and David Yeung. The
campaign chose Green Monday because
the goal is to make a healthy day by
eliminating the consumption of meat, eg
or dairy productWhy Green Monday
Vietnam? Because diet are not just a
personal choice but it also has
consequences for the family, community
the planet.This event can not only
negatively impact the health life but also
add to the environment burden that is
growing more unsustainable.
The event don't just eliminating the
consumption of meat or dairy product,
but it also saving the countless animal
from needless suffering death. Join the
