Learning Experience: Farm Animal Sorting Activity

Programming Purpose: Last class, I noticed that the children really enjoy playing with animal toys. The purpose of
this activity is to allow children to free play with the animals, and be able to sort out the farm animals by colour in the
little bowls.

Objective:
Children will have an opportunity to use their fine motor skills, and this activity will become a great part of learning
colours, and animal names.

Opening (Introduction)
-Ask all the children to come join me on the carpet
-Place the farm animals out on the carpet, along with the different coloured bowls
Body (Content)

1) Once the children join me on the carpet, I will show the children each farm animal, and ask them the names of the
animals to get the activity started
2) The rest of the activity will be free play, and I will observe how the children play with the animals

Closing (Ending)
-Tell the children that its time to tidy up, and ask them to help me put the farm animals back into the bucket.
Transition

-Ask the children to have a seat on the carpet with me, and sing to them until the teacher calls their name one by one
to wash their hands for lunch time.
