At the end of the 50-minutes session 75% of the learners can:
A. Identify action words (poem, stories, etc.)
B. Choose action words in retelling, conversation, etc.
C. Participate actively in class discussion.

A. Preliminary Activities

5. Drill: Action Relay (Game)
Game Mechanics:

 Group the class into 4 groups (Infuse values about sportsmanship).


 One member per group will be called and the teacher will give the action, while the rest of the members
will face the backside of the classroom. (Swim, Eat, Write, Run)
 The member will then call the next member in the line and relay the action until it will reach the last
person in the line.
 The last person will guess the action given and will raise his/her hand before saying the answer.
 The first group who will get the correct answer, shall be declared as winner.

6. Review of the Past Lesson: Spin-A-Wheel (Review about Nouns)
 Through Spin-A-Wheel, call volunteers from each group to answer the noun chart.
 The learners shall paste the words in the chart which they belong, if animals, things, person, and place.

 I will call one of you to pick the picture in the basket.
 You must tell what you have observe in the picture.

 I am going to read a poem. But before that, I have here some words that we need to unlock.
 Doubt - to have no confidence in someone or something.
 Skip - to move or proceed with leaps and bound.
 Hop - to jump over.
 Prance - to walk or move in a lively and proud manner.

My School
I will tell you about my school. In school I have fun,
A place that is cool. I play under the sun.
It is without doubt, I count things I can see,
My dear old school. Dream of what I can be.

In school, I can sing, There’s so much I can do,


And do many other things. In my school, that is true.
I can read, write, and dance, It is after all, my home,
I can skip, hop and prance. Away from home.
3. Analysis
Ask:
1. Do you understand the poem that I read to you?
2. In the poem, what is referred to as cool?
3. Based in the poem, give me two activities that can be done in school?
4. What else? Why do we need to go in school?
5. Now, let us go back to the poem, what have you observe?

1. There are words that are being underlined. Let us read all those words.
2. Our lesson for this morning is all about action words.
3. Action words are also known as verbs. They are words that show movements. They talk about what we do.
