III.

Introduction

Fashion is what everybody's talking about. Everyone wants to look good and fashionable from
head to toe. Wearing beautiful dresses is not enough to call someone fashionable, they must also wear
accessories that complement their outfit. Human as we are, both men and women have common kikay
blood that make us fascinated with accessories. We are very eager to find an outlet where in we can buy
fashionable accessories that would maintain our fashionable image. Some people are even willing to
travel along way just to have those accessories, like saraviahanon.

In connection with this, our team is proposing in establishing “Kikay Something” at E.B.
Magalona that will eventually serve its people and nearby town by providing different kinds of
fashionable accessories at the most affordable price. They don't have to travel along way anymore
because “Kikay Something” will serve them at the most convenient way.

IV. Executive Summary

A. Description of the business:

Giving a name to a business is as hard as giving a name to a child. It takes a lot of consideration
to give a name that will have an impact on the mind of people. So, we named the business “Kikay
Something”.

The “Kikay Something” comes from our belief that people, both men and women of all ages have
something kikay in their blood that make them fascinated with accessories. This Kikay Something is a
retail firm that will offer to the market different kinds of fashion accessories, both for men and women of
all ages, in the most convenient way.

B. Opportunity and Strategy:

Being kikay is innate in every individual regarding what their age and gender is. There is always
something inside of a person that drives him to look and feel good. Some are even willing to exert extra
effort and money to have these fashionable accessories, such an example is the saraviahanon people.
Based on what we have observed, these people are also fond of accessories but there has no store in E.B.
magalona that offer such products. So the proponents saw this as an opportunity to establish Kikay
Something.

Kikay Something will be the first one stop accessories shop in E.B. Magalona that will offer its
people different kinds of accessories from head to toe both for men and women of all ages. The proposed
business will provide products with high quality and customer will be treated equally no matter what his
status is. It is located at Brgy. III, where transportation is not a problem and near the plaza where people
use to hang out.
V. The Industry and the Company and its Products

A. The Industry:

Philippines are one of the largest exporters of fashion accessories in Asia. The products from the
Philippines are highly noted for the quality, design and innovation. At present, it is estimated that about
5,000 firms are engaged in the production of fashion accessories and employ between 50,000 workers.
Even more encouraging news is that accessories are the fastest growing sector in the fashion and apparel
industry.

Accessories used to be an afterthought but now there is so much excitement over accessories.
People just can’t help themselves in buying accessories that will complement their outfit to make them
feel trendy and attractive.

B. The Company and the Concept:

Kikay Something is a retail store that offers the market different kinds of fashion accessories both
for men and women of all ages. It is located at Brgy. III E.B. Magalona near the public plaza.

The proponents of this subject aim to establish this business because we believe that all people,
men and women, professional or not are naturally born kikay in their own unique ways. We people, have
this feeling that we need to feel attractive at all times. And through establishing this kind of business we
are not only thinking about gaining profit and enjoying ourselves, we are also helping our fellow kikay’s
to feel attractive and trendy in the world of fashion at the most convenient way.

C. The Product:

The proposed business will sell fashionable accessories for those people who want to look and
feel good. The kinds of product to be sold are the ff.:

 Accessories for women – necklaces, pendants, armlets, earrings, lockets, anklets, rings, brooches,
corsage bracelets, bangles, all types of pins, pierced earrings

 Items for the hair – hair clips, barrettes, head bands, hair pins, ribbons, scunchi, ponytail holders

 Accessories for men – tie pins/clasps, necklaces, buttons, decorative watches, rings, cufflinks

 Accessories for children – colorful brooches, hair ornaments, rings, necklaces, earrings (for
pierced ears), other accessories.

Management Aspect

A. Type of Business Organization:


In every business, one must identify the form of ownership they will use. The ownership may be
in the form of single or sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation. In the case of Kikay Something,
we can't choose to be a sole proprietorship because it is not owned by a single person. We can't also be a
corporation because kikay something is not that big that it would require that type of organization. So, we
choose partnership because it is what suits the business.

B. Key Management Personnel:

Management plays a very important role in the business. The people behind the business are the key
to the success or failure of the business. The following are the personnel of the business:

 Manager:

- The one who is vested with powers to lay down and execute management policies and to hire,
assign or discipline employees.

- He/she will also serve as the bookkeeper of the business. The one who makes payroll, voucher,
orders and others things consider in the business. He/she will also facilitate bank deposits and
withdrawals.

 Cashier:

- The one in charge in customer payments or receive payment from costumers in exchange of
items they purchased. At the end of the day she will turn over the cash to the manager.

 Sales Persons:

- The one who will entertain and assist to the customer needs and wants. They are also in charge
of arranging and putting the products in its proper places. They will also help in distributing
pamphlets to some places.

D. Compensation and benefits:

All employees of the proposed business are entitled to benefits mandated by law which include the
following:

 SSS

 Phil Health

 Salaries and wages of employees will be proportionate to their designation and will conform to
standards set by DOLE.

 Payday will be on the 15th and 30th day of the month.

E. Mission and Vision:

Mission:

The mission of Kikay Something is to provide the best quality of fashionable accessories to the
people of saraviahon as well as to nearby towns at an affordable price at the most convenient way.

Vision:

The Kikay Something envisions being a successful firm in the place and expanding in the nearby
town. The firm has the goal to become famous in terms of producing fashionable accessories at an
affordable price at the most convenient way. We can achieve this by serving our costumer in a good
manner by having a harmonious relationship with both employees and management.

Marketing Aspect

A. Target Market:

Kikay Something target market are those people who want to look good and feel good both men
and women of all ages, professional or not. Residents of E.B. Magalona and nearby towns are also
considered target market of the business. Based on our observation a lot of people are very interested to
the product offered by Kikay Something.

B. Competition and Competitive Advantage:


In this world that we live in, competition is present everywhere. In the absence of competition,
business industry will become unhealthy. So, we the proponents of this study consider competition as a
challenge and not a hindrance on our success.

Kikay Something is luckily considered alone in a fashion accessories venture at E.B. Magalona,
but we are considering the fact that we do have indirect competitors. Currently there are 3 stores at
E.B.Magalona that sell accessories. Unfortunately the said stores have limited accessories that make their
customer crave for more.

Kikay Something has a lot of advantages from its competitors. One of which is the location, it has
a good location compare to its competitors. It is located where numbers of buyers pass by and
transportation is not a problem. Another advantage is we are one stop accessories store for they can find
all kinds of accessories they needed from head to toe. Our treatment to customer is also one of advantages
that we have. We treat our customer equally no matter what his/her status in the society. Our employees
are always ready to accommodate customers with a smile on their faces.

TECHNICAL ASPECT

B. Operational schedule:

The regular business hours with no lunch break will start at 8:00 in the morning and ends in 8:00
in the evening. The time of operation will be adjusted from 9:00 in the morning to 9:00 in the evening
during holiday seasons.
C. Location of the business:

Another factor that will contribute to the success or failure of the business is the location. We
can say that a location is good if there is a large number of buyers pass by and when transportation is
not a problem.

That is why we decided to establish Kikay Something at brgy. III E.B. Magalona. We already
visited the place and it was the perfect place for the business. It is beside the road and near the public
plaza where a lot of people use to hang-out.
