I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Q’S PRELOVED is an e-commerce business that has a goal of promoting confidence

in wearing timeless pieces of preloved clothing. Q’S PRELOVED sells preloved clothing for a
budget-friendly price, The focal point of our business proposal is the business extension
located in Facebook and Shopee, as the plan was to start in live selling in Shopee and create
further progress in other parts of the social media and the retail stores in the Philippines, our
endpoint is to completely change the people’s perspective On preloved clothing.

Q’S PRELOVED is part of a micro-business enterprise widely known as ‘ukay-ukay’

which means to dig up, and the market continues to grow even with the existence of cheap
trendy clothes, local brands, and mall brands. With this, a lot of people have started their
online business relating to preloved clothing and more. Since the pandemic started the growth
of it has started to progress. That is why the competition is hectic in this industry.

We started from personal preloved clothing and work our way up to ‘ukay-bale’ where
we get it at a low cost and resell it for a much higher price, but before it goes into the selling
process, there is a preparation that takes place in placing our products on the market from
segregation, quality checking, repairing, taking pictures, posting, and labeling. The process
takes time just like any other, but quality checks are needed to be extensive since the
products have a risk of being damaged since they are second-hand clothing. To be able to
be competitive in this industry, the promotion of our business circulates in different discounts,
sales, and gigs like “Buy 3 get 1 free item!” and “Opening Sale: 99 all items!”.

As we take up our e-commerce to Facebook and Shopee, the goal is to have multiple
branches around the Philippines and completely rebrand the meaning of preloved clothing.

DESCRIPTION

The business description of the paper talks about the basic information that makes up a
business structure: products, organization, location (Web address, Physical business
address)

Q’s preloved is an e-commerce business that started on Shopee on a live selling

platform, and the focus of this business plan is the newly launched Facebook business
extension that sells the same products which are women’s preloved clothes that are carefully
checked to provide the platform with quality preloved clothes. The difference between this
business extension to the original one is the way of it being sold, live streamers selling clothes,
shoes, and other products tend to auction it off live, in this business extension it is as if you
have a catalog of clothes to choose from, just like in every other online clothing store. The
main premise of the business is to remove the hassle of looking for good quality clothing in a
mountain of clothes in these ‘ukay -ukay; places, and provide convenience by providing
delivery, pick up, or meet up services since the pandemic halts people into going out to public
places.

The business is being utilized as an e-commerce business placed on social media and
selling platforms like Facebook and Shopee but the location where the procedure of checking
the quality, repairing, shooting, and posting the product takes place in the residence of the
owners in Malolos City Bulacan.
For the registration of the business, from the security bank financial blog by Kenneth

III. INDUSTRY BACKGROUND

Preloved clothes are second-hand clothes that are being sold and it has become one
of the famous micro-business in the Philippines because many people love and enjoy these
products which are sold at a lower price than the original. Since Filipinos are also known for
bargaining and their love for sale and discounts, the “Ukay- Pre-loved clothes are called
“ukay-ukay’ here in the Philippines and it came from the Tagalog word “hukay” which means
“to dig”.

The first ukay-ukay was believed to have been founded in the early 1980s in Baguio and
when calamities frequented the Philippines during that year, the Philippine Salvation Army
would send second-hand garments and other goods to the refugees and victims as
humanitarian assistance to the victims of the calamities Abueg (2010). Before it became
famous, the sellers started-out from just displaying boxes beside the roads filled with second-
hand stuff and you have to dig in the piles of fabrics, shoes, and random stuff and no one
would help you.

It became popular in Baguio, where it was called “wagwagan”. In some stores, people
are digging out on a pile of clothes, while in other stores, they are hanging the clothes so that
the customers can easily see or examine the clothes. Pre-loved clothes nowadays is a very
affordable source of fashionable and durable clothing. Pre-loved clothes had successfully
caught the hearts of the people not only for the less-unfortunate people but even celebrities
and famous stars are also patronizing it. Now, we can also buy pre-loved clothes online. It is
more convenient than “digging out” the clothes, just swipe, pick and you will have fashionable
and affordable clothing. Selling ‘ukay-ukay’ has evolved from simple physical stores with piles
and hanging clothes, to today’s trending platform in forms of live selling, auctions, or catalog
form posting.
Growth Prospect of the Industry

In our country, a study states that 64% of Filipino are spending more time on social
media. And about a 23% increase in online shopping activity during this year (2020). One of
the vital players for growth in the clothing/pre-loved clothing industry is the advancement of
technology. The majority of the customers or the market itself is found on the internet
nowadays. Such platforms and applications are helpful for it to reach a broader audience for
the industry to market its product. It is ideal for a company to have a solid online foundation
as well as a connection with their customers. Having a reliable online shop or platform where
you can market your product will bring further success for the company.

Websites are also considered a huge prospect for this kind of industry. Having an
effective and efficient website will bring satisfaction to the customers for its smooth
transactions and a more accessible type of online store. With this, a company can also
establish its brand in the market. A popular brand/ shop can expand its business and increase
its profitability because it is the preferred shop of the customers and attracts new clients.
Branding is a major game-changer especially in the field of the clothing industry.

Logic of the Business

IV. COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

The Competitor Analysis will circle the S.W.O.T analysis, providing the paper with
substantial evidence and information that the business needs to consider in improving the
competitive edge and scoping out the competition in our market.

Strength Weaknesses

The business itself is already established One of the weaknesses of starting this
with a live selling market on Shopee, business is establishing the new media
widening the market throughout the success platform. Regardless of having a quite
of the business on Shopee, will provide the established Shopee platform, building
people with a variety of ways they can buy another business on another platform is

promoting and reaching new places in the
We provide 2 ways to deliver our items, the new platform
best one being having a Shopee checkout,
since the business has a Shopee seller Another weakness in the business is the
account, it comes with the advantage of high risk of being conned in this business
utilizing the checkout system into our platform since people can easily acquire

the country.

Financially one of the strengths of the

business is how much profit it can generate
because of the low cost of the product, there
would be a flexible range of discounts and
sales once the platform can gain more
engagement in the media, hence, compared
to other pages and store, we provide bigger
and better prices and sales.

Opportunities Threats

The business can expand, not just online but The clothing retail business is a trending and
to create physically established stores widely known business all over the world
nationwide, slowly the business can further and the Philippines. Filipinos have known to
progress in creating multiple branches or love discounted and secondhand items, and
small physical stores and further these that includes clothes.
stores in retail commercial areas.
Another opportunity we have in our platform Since the spike of the popularity of ukay-
is to further our products in the business, by ukay or secondhand clothes, it has begun to
not just selling preloved clothes but other pop up in different commercial places,
items that are in a relation to jewelry, besides that, since the pandemic urged
accessories, bags, and shoes. people to stay indoors, preloved clothes still
paved their way to online retail in forms of
live selling and/or catalog like posts.

Hence, the competitors are all over

Instagram, Facebook, Shopee, Lazada, and
carousell, besides selling preloved clothes,
cheap trendy clothes has started a major
competition in the preloved clothing
community.

Online reviews are not truthful all the time,

even if the business provides good products,
the public online reviews can damage the
business.

To further, the competition with other

clothing retail stores can be difficult, but with
active and consistently good quality
products, customer loyalty, and outstanding
customer service, the overall progression of
customers will be consistent.

V. MARKETING PLAN

The marketing conditions are hectic in this industry, the preloved industry is a large
and progressing market, and as the pandemic arises online business ventures about retail
clothes are competitively challenged. The strategies and plan we have for the business
centers around social activeness, consumer satisfaction, and extensive quality control. It has
been proven that with an active social media presence the online business can progress and
be seen, once we have established an online business platform where people who
continuously engage and are loyal to buying preloved clothing follow engage in the page.

Besides this, we also provide discounts and promotions that will benefit both parties
as a way to stay above the normal online pages and to somehow, pressurize the consumers
into buying more than what they initially have. We also provide early responses in the people
inquiring and or asking questions in the pages. This can be a way for consumers to see that
the page is customer friendly and approachable hence, by word of mouth and reviews people
will be able to know the good things about the page.
Product

Pre-loved clothing is one of the most trending products in online shopping for today’s
youth. These items were slightly but the clothes we are selling are filtered and. There are
downsides to preloved shopping, one of which is sizing, if they don’t have the item you love
in your size, they can get it in from another store in another size. Q’s Pre-loved mostly sells
women’s clothing especially dresses but men can also purchase these products as a gift for
their mom, sister, and even friends. We are initially providing clothes for women like dresses,
skirts, shirts, pants and more. Once the business is skyrocketing or established maybe then,
the business can incorporate different forms of product in our list. Below are sample pictures
of the 1st collection on our page.

Price
Pricing is important to marketers because it represents marketers’ assessment of the
value customers see in the product or service. Q’s Pre-loved products are set in 99 pesos in
any size or designs for it’s our opening sale but, the range in the prices of these clothes
depending on size and design, can range for as low as 50 to 159 in our shop. Most of the
people of today, prefer to purchase an item that is discounted and not as expensive, as people
learn to be financially aware.
Place
Since Q’s Preloved is being administered in an e-commerce platform there is no
specific address of the business besides the websites we created through Facebook, Shopee,
and Instagram. Besides this, the only physical place this business has is the residence of the
house where the operations occur

Promotion
Q’s Pre-loved is promoted by using the internet. In that way, it can be accessible for
everyone to avail and check the item. Another way to promote the business is to have special
sales, discounts, and promotions as the business goes on. The clothing will all range from
100-159 pesos but prices may vary as the business encounters more products. The
affordability of the product will attract consumers and encourage them to buy even more. With
that, the consumer can introduce Q’s Pre-loved to another consumer through the word of
mouth and it allows the shop to gain more audiences. Our page also shares and promotes
the product into exclusive groups on Facebook whose platform is directed to people who buy
clothes online, it is sharing your work with your target market.

The Facebook page is also promoted to the current loyal customers of Q’s Preloved
in Shopee, which allows them to expand their choices of clothing from the shop. Our
promotion will include activeness in engagement and consumer response. Here are some of
the other sales and promotion of the business that are currently and are being planned to be
used in the future:

Social Media Reach

We used three media platforms such namely Facebook, Instagram, and Shopee
because most people spend a lot on social media and most of the consumers prefer to order
online because, in just one click, they can place their order easily, and just like that it’ll be on
their doorstep in no time. These platforms help connect with your customers and Shopee
most especially can help the business with the logistics of bringing the products to the
consumers. The business must increase social media awareness about the brand to boost
leads and sales. 52 percent of social media marketers believe social media positively
influences their company’s revenue and sales. It is often easier and more convenient to
access information, provide information, and communicate via social media. Sellers and
consumers can be connected and can make good use of these platforms for the benefit of
their business and needs.

VI. OPERATIONS PLAN

In this portion, how we execute our business is discussed. It indicates the whole process
from purchasing on a supplier up to the buying process of the customers.

Suppliers

Supplies or the goods that we are selling are bought through outside suppliers online.
By doing this, we have two options for purchasing the products. One is through "pick-up"
where available supplies were to be collected by the owner. Moreover, the other option is
through the delivery process where supplies were purchased by dispatching the products to
us. The products are to be retailed through different platforms. Originally, the business was
operating through the Shopee platform. But, since we have built a partnership with Ms. Irma
Carmela N. Quetua who was originally operating the business as a sole proprietor, we
decided to create and operate an extension using Facebook in a catalog style.

Equipment
PICTURE DESCRIPTION
1. Tape measure
a length of the tape or thin flexible
metal marked at intervals for
measuring. In this business,
measuring tapes are very essential
because this is used to measure the
sizes of the products.

2. Plastic Bags and Containers

These were used for the organizing

and packaging of the products. In the
segregation process, we use this to
distribute products to the customers in
a presentable way. In the organizing
process, we use this so we can have
the ability to easily locate the clothing
pieces for sale, on storage, for
reservations, or sold.

3. Mannequin

This is used as a form representing

the human figure used in displaying
clothes. By using this, customers
would be able to know the fit of the
clothes and how it looks while wearing
it.
4. Camera/ Phone Camera

This is used for posting the

products on Facebook or Shopee. We
capture the appearance of the clothes
for easy recognition. Customers would
be able to choose different sizes and
categories with the help of this. Also,
through online shopping, customers
won't have physical contact with the
clothes that's why we want to give
them the best visualization possible.

5. Tapes and Stickers

This is used for the security of the

package and the stickers are for the
thank you message of the consumers
once they purchase the product.

6. Lint Remover & Sewing Kit.

For the removal of lint and or

repairing of minimal flaws or
loose threads and buttons

7. Fabric Softener and Laundry

Detergent

The Laundry detergent and

Fabric Softener are used to
sanitize and make the clothes
nice, clean, and fresh.
Process

1) Purchasing goods from the supplier.

As stated earlier, outside suppliers provide products for us to sell. We have two
choices of how we will acquire pre-loved clothes. One is through dispatch and the other one
is through "pick-up". In this case, it is either we go to the supplier or the supplies were
delivered to us.
It also involves organizing the products and pricing them. It refers to identifying the
number of price clothes should be.

2) Segregation and Labeling

This process refers to the isolation of the supplies. Supplies were used in two
different ways. One is through live selling and the other one is through posting it. So, products
will be isolated based on which category they will be sold.

Labeling consists of putting the sizes and other descriptions on the picture before
posting it, it allows the customers to have additional and basic information in viewing the
product.

3) Quality Check

After segregating, clothes will be inspected to identify products with defects such as
holes and stains. Thus, those will be disregarded and won't be able to sell. On the other hand,
well-formed products will be isolated and eventually sold. In this part also, after removing
defective clothes, sizes of the clothes will be identified and separated. Our products' sizes
range from small to large.

Part of checking the quality id when it has its flaws will be repaired. This is only done if the
clothing has a small flaw like a lost button, a washable stain, a small cut, or a loose thread on
the clothing.
In quality, cleanliness is part of the process. Since the pandemic, people have been more
conscious about how sanitized a product is, so in this process, we have included sanitation
of our clothes through thoroughly washing them.

4) Posting

After the clothes are settled, it is time to arrange the products and offerings to the public.
In this process, we will take pictures of what we sell, put captions including price, type of the
product, sizes, and from there, we will post it through Facebook.

5) Packaging

Customers can contact us through Facebook. They can send a message or they can
simply comment on their chosen product/s and we will be approaching them by messaging
them. They can choose whether to avail their items through Shopee where products will be
delivered to them or they can also choose to meet-up with us and get their orders. The meet-
up places are around Calumpit, Malolos, or Tabang. Now, once we have a deal, their orders
will be packaged. Supplies were sealed in plastic bags before selling.

6) Purchasing Process

After we have successfully made a deal with the customer and packaged their
respective orders, the buying process is the next step. If they choose to claim their items
through Shopee, it will be delivered to them. But, if they choose to claim their orders through
meetup, we will be meeting them and execute the buying process. We will be contacting them
for the meeting place and other information.

The first step for the customers to avail products is to comment "mine" or send us a
message. Once it is confirmed that they will be purchasing that product, we'll be dealing with
the whole transaction by contacting them. Upon transacting, they will be asked what
purchasing process they would want to do.

a) Meet-up
Through "meet-up" customers can get their orders in a certain location
convenient for both parties. This feature is only available in places under Calumpit,
Malolos, and Tabang since it costs money to travel to farther places. It may only vary
depending on the landmarks we have set. Thus, payment shall be given in cash. The
day they want to meet will the time they will acquire their product

b) Shopee Checkout
On the other hand, if they choose to claim their orders through Shopee, it will
be another process. Once they settled what they wanted to buy, customers may
communicate through messaging and a link will be sent to them leading them to the
Shopee product checkout where products that they ordered are posted. From there,
they would add it to their cart depending on the number of products they've ordered,
once they add it to their cart, check out, pick a payment method, and lastly place their
order, it will come to them in 2 to 3 days.

VIII. FINANCIAL PLAN

OPERATIONS AND STRATEGIES

For this part, it will show how the business started when it comes to financing and how it
progresses. It will also give some background about the idea that led this business to be an
official business. Descriptions of the progress made through the years are explained in this
part as well as the strategies or ways made to make the business bigger and successful.

From the financial point of view, the business is starting up to have a large income since the
supplies are bought from a direct seller, with this the projection of the income increases as
the activeness of the page progresses, but even though this is the case, the way we see it
that every product and equipment used should not be wasted, which allows the business to
attain its full income in the end, secondly, expanding our business in the future from online to
physical stores will take manpower and money, though financial loans are something the
business considers it is not our first option. Equity and sales will still be the driving part for the
progression of the company to greater heights. To keep the business intact, in online
businesses there’s a lot of things one should consider but two of the things we must put to
our top list are customer satisfaction and extensive quality checking since these build the
operation and it will show in sales of the company.

In this table, you will see the timeline we wish to part take as the business goes on:

Financial Timetable
YEAR FINANCIAL PLAN
2020 During the quarantine period, when we were
all locked down for a few months, the owner
of Q's preloved thought of sorting her clothes
and dresses. An idea came up to her mind
and that is to sell the clothes that she is no
longer going to use since she is a pregnant
woman. With this idea in mind, no capital
was released in its first try.

The time came when she realized that

customers are starting to increase and she
decided to have business partners to help
widen her social media reach. With the
capital that the owners share, it is decided to
resell preloved clothes also from other
people. The business bought a bulk of
clothes that is costing 1,000 and some
equipment for packaging. To keep the
business growing, a financial analysis was
made to check if the business is gaining
profit or not. As a starting business, shipping
of the products is made through the platform
Shopee or it could also be meetups.

2021 With the capital made from the previous

year, the business started to make a small
physical store. This physical store may help
the shop be known by the people who do not
usually use social media accounts. By
having a physical store, more employees are
also hired to manage the physical store and
to help operate the business. However,
since this is the first store to be made, some
employees came from the owners
themselves and some are hired.

2022 For this year, customers are increasing as

well as the profit that is being made. Orders
from different parts of Luzon are at a high
rate. By getting some of the equity and
loaning from the bank, the business started
to build some branches in the Luzon area,
especially in provinces.

2023 As a succeeding business in the

marketplace, the Q's Preloved decided to
have multiple branches all around the
Philippines. Some of the capital and owners’
contributions are used to build these multiple
branches in the country.

Customers, employees, stocks, and profit

are in good condition that led the business to
not have any financial problems and stand
out from its competitors.

The business started only on selling the clothes of the owner, meaning to say that there is
already a small capital made without releasing any funds at all. After deciding that what had
been started could be a business, partners were found to share capital (300 pesos with 11
partners) to make this business happen. Equipment and inventory were purchased. These
are equipped to start up the business. During its first year, the partners have the goal to make
a physical store, therefore they have agreed that most of its capital will be saved for it.

For the second year, a plan to have a physical store was accomplished using the profit
made from the previous year. This physical store technique is somehow a way to know
whether or not it will bloom in the public market.

While monitoring and operating the business, a phenomenon occurred that led to the owners
taking action. An increase in demand and supply was observed during the third year of the
business. A financial loan was made to have multiple branches in Luzon to meet the
customers’ demand. However, the funds did not just come from the loan but also the partners’
shares.

For the fourth year of the business in the market, it was a high success leading teaming up
with other businessmen. Shares were given to make multiple branches all around the country.
The business ensures that it is succeeding instead of going downhill. Profit is being
monitored, making sure that the business can make a long run in the market.

From the simple idea of selling clothes to people that they are not going to use, the business
through the years has found its success in the market. The success of the business was
made because of the competitive analysis and strategic plans made. A business that is
successful in the market and a business that meets the needs of the people.

Unit Price with Markup P 99
Total Sales (if sold out) P 14,850

Gross Profit P13,620

The table above shows the gross profit, not including the operating expenses including
gas, water, and electricity. This summary is the gross profit for starting the Facebook brand,
the gross profit may increase after the 1st collection for the reason that the capital amount
was regained. Per piece of clothing the business profits a rough estimate of 92 pesos. This
turns the cost of goods of 1,000 Php to an overestimation of 14,850 Php, this is an
overestimation since only roughly 75-90% of the clothes can fit the Facebook audience and
the style quality of clothes Q’s Preloved on Facebook wants to present. Regardless of which,
the business does not lose anything as long as the capital is gained.
