Personal Significance

One of the aspects about pursuing a career in Nursing that intrigues me is the expansive

directions in which you can follow within the field. I value the importance of creating short term

and long term goals as a constant reminder and motivation to remain steadfast and determined to

become the experienced and successful nurse I am destined to become.

Short Term Goals

One of my most current short-term goals I plan to accomplish is that by early July 2017, I

will have taken and successfully passed the NCLEX. Secondly, it is my hope that by August

2017, I will be working as an RN in a Graduate Nurse Residency Program on a Medical-Surgical

or Pediatric unit within the state of Florida.

Long Term Goals

My ultimate professional long term goal is to be able to earn my DNP license as a

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I plan to make this goal a reality by having enrolled in graduate

school to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) by 2018. Nursing is truly my passion, so

I would like to pursue the highest level of education that interest me in order to help a wider

Pediatric population. Lastly, I would like to travel nationally and internationally whether it may

be through an agency, corps, or my own non-for profit clinical practice to provide nursing care

and services to impoverished communities and nations by 2022.
