    Transforming the Heart of RMITs City Campus

    The New Academic Street (NAS) is RMIT Universities latest project that plans to revamp
    their flagship city campus over 2 years, creating new and improved facilities for staff and
    students.

    NAS aim is to enhance campus life, creating a lively and enjoyable environment for staff
    and students.

    Some of the exciting new changes NAS is bringing to RMIT include: more student spaces
    for relaxing and studying such as more collaboration spaces, 1000 more seats, renovations
    to the Swanston library, connecting more buildings together for easier accessibility around
    the campus and opening parts up to the surrounding streetscape. Additionally, theyre
    providing more onsite food retailers and improving the way RMIT handles and supports
    students enrolment and program queries.

    NAS decided to release aspects of the project in 3 different stages to ensure both current
    and future students are able to enjoy the benefits of it. NAS is currently in their stage 2 of
    construction and they plan to complete the development within two years, ending mid
    2017.
