Research Introductions

According to UEFAP, writing an introduction is important for writing a paper in order to

show the reader what you are about to discuss and talk about in your writing. The webpage

explains that there are three main components for writing an introduction. These three

components include establishing a research topic, indicating a gap in the research or talking more

about previous research done, and outlining or stating the research. This knowledge is important

to know for writing the IMRAD Major essay because it helps to outline what a well-written

introduction should be like while writing the paper and how to write it by providing guidelines.

Social Work Literature Reviews

According to Purdue OWL, literature reviews are specifically written in research papers

in order to give readers an overview of the sources that were looked at while researching and to

demonstrate how the research fits into the field of study. When writing a literature review, it is

necessary to choose articles that will tie into the subject that is being researched and must have

relevant information. In a literature review, the articles should be organized in a way that makes

the most sense to the topic. This webpage is important because it is useful information when

writing up a research paper and it shows how a literature review should be organized to relate to

the topic being researched.
