To Whom It May Concern,
Hello, my name is Sherry Jackson, and I teach 4th grade here at Landstown
Elementary School in Virginia Beach, VA. As an extension activity for the VIF
studies (Asia focus), I invited Samantha Santiaguel into my classroom to give
my students an in-depth look into the Filipino culture. What she did was
simply amazing.
Our school divided our grade levels up into specific continental focus groups.
Fourth grade adopted Asia as our place of study and when I heard about a
student in our system that has a Senior Project about the Philippines, I had to
have her come to meet my class. Immediately after getting my invitation,
she quickly responded and arrived with a full presentation within 48 hours.
Not only did she have an extensive background about the culture, but also
her use of props, A/V technology and take-away objects made the Philippines
come to life in front of our eyes. My students were delighted by the
presentation and they had several questions about how they could one day
be a part of the GSWLA at Tallwood HS.
Special thanks to Miss Santiaguel for job well done. Her presentation was
very informative and absolutely perfect for my students. We wish her the
best in her future studies and we look forward to working with this caliber of
student work in the years to come.

Sincerely,
Sherry Jackson
