MD ADAPTED CHARLIE LESSON

Materials:
- Quaver Lesson: Charlie Over the Ocean
- iPod
- Speakers

1. Hello Welcome
a. Bring students into the room and sing hello to them
b. Play screen 2 of Quaver PK lesson and sing to them (ask their
helpers to sing along)
c. With each verse, sing each of their names
i. Hello Sierra! How are you? (Abigail, Chad,
Christopher, Ezra)
2. Loud/Soft screen
a. Say There can be loud sounds and there can be soft sounds.
Music is the same way!
b. Listen to each example on the screen and ask if they think it is
loud or soft.
i. Helpers will be essential here, each student needs
the one-on-one
3. My Dog Rags
a. Play song and sing along
b. Helpers will sing as well
c. Come up with motions for Flip flop, wig wag, zig zag
i. Arms move from side to side and move chairs side
to side
4. Listen to Charlie over the Ocean story
a. Sing with them at the end
5. With extra time, play Freeze dance
a. Play music and have helpers wheel students around the carpet
b. When the music stops, everyone freeze!
