“A Fat Cat”
I had a cat.
Who was so fat.
He could not even,
Sit on his mad.
He had a hat,
That did not fit,
He put it on,
And then it split.

 What did you observe about the Poem?
 Do you have a pet at home? How do you take care of them?
F. Presentation  Today we will learn about rhyming Words in a Poem.
 Read the poem and tell them the title and the author.

Some are dark and some are fair.
They come in different sizes,
And they often bring surprises.

Children laughing, making faces,


Children skipping, running faces.
Children playing house ogeher,

Some girls like only o whisper,
While ohers laugh loud and giggle

Ask the comprehension questions:


1. What is rhyming words?
2. What do children usually like to do?
3. What make children happy?
4. What about you? What makes you happy?
5. What are the rhyming words in the poem?
Example: sizes-surprises

H. Developing Mastery  I wiil give another poem and let them identify the rhyming words of their own.
 Repeat after me.

I will give the first group a card on which a word is written. And the other group I will
also give a card word that rhymes to the first group.

Then the second group will second the rhyming words to the first group.
