Materials/Equipment:

Recording of Larry the Lobster


Sea creature puppets

Prior Knowledge:

The tune of Larry the Lobster

Objectives/Goals:

TSWBAT perform a line dance and sing while moving.


TSWBAT use the puppets to dramatize Larry the Lobster
TSWBAT sing and speak in rhythm to Larry

Accommodations:
Students may sit outside the circle if they are unable to walk
when singing Looby Loo.
Students may walk if they are unable to run.

Content/Procedures:

2 minutes Greet students at the door


Verbally give each a number spot for seating
Introduce the lessons, let them know what theyll
be doing.

Looby Loo
10 Students will create a circle by taking hands and
minutes spreading out.
I will introduce song
Here we go Looby Loo,
here we go looby lie,
here we go looby loo,
all on a Saturday night.

Put your right foot in,


you put your right foot out,
you give your foot a shake shake shake
and turn yourself around,
Oh!

Here we go looby loo.

Potential body parts to pull from:


right foot
left foot
hands
knees
elbows
head
nose
bottom
whole self

Keep students in a circle and have them sit.


15 Sing Larry once through with them.
minutes Introduce the puppets
Two Larry puppets
the rest of the sea creatures (predators
getting Larry)
Explain that one Larry is in the middle of the
circle as we sing the beginning of the song.
Then, we will sing Look out, Larry! Here comes
a (insert a different sea animal here)!
Then:
Run, run, Larry, run!
Here, Larry will run inside the circle as we sing.
The predator will not actually catch Larry, but
they will chase him.
Then, we will start over with a new Larry and a
new animal trying to get him.

Perform the song multiple times.

Closing

3 minutes

Closing:

Collect the puppets and have students line up on the line.


Play opposite game if time permits.

Assessment:

Teacher observation of students singing and following


directions.
Teacher observation of students in the circle dance.
