Vision
dedicated to improving math and science education.

Mission
I am committed to building a culture of inquiry and discovery based education that encourages deep learning, is
powerfully meaningful to teachers and students, and inspires excellence in students as innovators, creative thinkers, and
world problem solvers. A culture of education that trains teachers to teach from their passions and grants students the
tools, space, and time to practice vulnerability as a source of power.

Mission
The mission of the Youth Science Center is to inform, instruct and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover
the excitement of science and technology through exhibits and programs that promote learning through interaction.

Comparison
The company I work with, the Youth Science Center, has a very open philosophy on how they envision the improvement
of math and science education. They have hired me and others to imbue the organization with best practices of inquiry
education. We have also been charged with developing a scaffold that trains teachers in the use inquiry methods to
teach to their expertise. The primary practice of the YSC has been to use science and math teachers to teach programs
that are fun for them. This way the students will be inspired by the teachers enthusiasm for the subject. This directly
aligns with my vision of creating opportunities for teachers and learners to find and share their voice.
The last words of the YSCs mission are through interaction. These directly correlate to my personal mission of building
a culture of inquiry education.
