Learning Experiences:

This is the first day of my OJT at Kenwood Construction Enterprises, I

feel uncomfortable as Im about to enter the office where they will orient us
of the things that we will do in the department but when we are in the office
the people in the office welcomed us with a smile in their faces. The day
was so exciting because we did meet the supervisor of the construction
department and to the other staff in the department with the help of Maam
Joela who is the one that assisted us in our application. The rest of the day
was spent in orientation and job observation. The day was ended with our
minds and bodies excited for the next coming days.

Learning Experiences:
 On this day of my OJT was an interesting day because the owner of the
company Mr. George T. Li visits the office while we are practicing our skills
on drawing about some building that we want to build. Mr. George T. Li
decided to give us a task to make us busy while we stay at the office
because the ongoing projects of the company was about to finished so they
decided to make us stay until their new project is about to start. The task
that Mr. George T. Li gave us was to estimate the hospital project that is
located at Bolingit, San Carlos City. He ask us to estimate the materials that
will be use, material cost and is labor cost of each of the three structures
that will be constructed in Bolingit. We spent the whole day estimating the
structure that was assigned to us.

Learning Experiences:

This is the day when we started to estimate the task that was given to
last day. We decided to make a draw lots to decide who should be with on
the group that will consist of three members. We did also decided to give
the difficult structure to the group that has three members and the other
two will be given to the group that has two members. And the rest of the
day was consumed on estimating the assigned structure.

Learning Experiences:

On this day of our OJT we continued our work on estimating the total
cost that will be use on the project in the Bolingit, San Carlos City. The day
was stressful because we encounter some difficulties on computing the
materials to be use because of the lack of information from the given plan of
the structure and with the lack of knowledge about how to estimate a
certain structure because we dont have the subject estimate on our
curriculum. But even we dont have the subject estimate we did our best to
learn how to estimate with the use of a book that was written by Max
Fajardo. With this book we did overcome some difficulties that we are
experiencing on estimating the structure. The day was quite tiring as we
spent the whole day estimating the assigned structure but we did learn new
things and enjoy the day as we do our task.

Learning Experiences:

On our fifth day on the OJT, we are

rewriting the computation of the
estimated materials to be used and the
labor cost in Bolingit Project of the company who trains us. In the midst of
our rewriting the computation we did
compare our work to each other to have a
good thought about the end result of the
computation of the project and to make
sure that we did the right estimated
materials and labor cost of the Project.

Learning Experiences:

This is the sixth day in our OJT; we did a lot of practicing on making our
skills improve on using the Sketch Up, AutoCAD and V-ray application. With
the help of the computer on the office we started to use it to draw some
ideas on designing buildings in the Sketch Up and we rendered it with the
use of the V-ray. We did our best to make a good work on making our design
to have a good appearance when other people will see it.

Learning Experiences:

This day was started on practicing our skills on using the Sketch Up,
AutoCAD, and V-ray Application. We did our best to draw houses and make
the perspective of our work presentable to other people. We think a lot of
thought on how we will render the best view of our structure that we work
hard to make. As we practice our skills on the AutoCAD Application we did
get some assistance on Sir Jericho De Vera and Sir Bryan Tapia on how can
we improve our skills on using the AutoCAD application.

Learning Experiences:

On our eighth day of our OJT in Kenwood Construction Enterprises, we

practice our Sketch Up and AutoCAD skills while we are waiting for the
announcement on when and where are we going to go to site. We also did
study the previous plans and other documents that will give us knowledge
on things that we dont know about how civil engineers do on their jobs. We
also learned some shortcuts on the AutoCAD Application that will help us on
our work.

Learning Experiences:

On this day of our OJT we are given a task to draw a certain plan on the
AutoCAD. The plan is consists of site development plan, vicinity map and
floor plan of a building. Even if the task was assigned to us was urgent, we
did our best to be calm and make our work quick to finish our work on time
with no errors. And when the assigned work to us was finished we learned
some important lesson and we did improve our skill on using the AutoCAD
application.

Learning Experiences:

This day of our OJT when we are assigned by Mr. George Li to survey a
certain terrain in the Mary Help of Christian Theology Seminary in Brgy.
Palapad, San Fabian, Pangasinan to help them determine how their
professional engineers can estimate the total cost of the project. As we go
to the project site we are very excited to go there because we are
accompanied by Engr. Gie Ann and Sir Bryan Tapia one of the CAD operator.
We did measure the distance of the road that will be constructed there but
we did have a problem on getting the exact measurement because of the
mountainous terrain and there are too many obstruction in the way in the
site that the road will be built in. But with the strategy that Engr. Gie Ann
and Sir Bryan we did overcome the problem that we encountered.

Learning Experiences:

This is the day when Maam Joela decided to lets us come to Engr.
David to visit a site that is being constructed near the office that we are
stay in. When the time come when we are about to go to the site we are all
excited to go to the site because it is the first time that we are going to see
the live action on how are they the worker work on the building they are
constructing, how site engineer do their work on the site and to ask some
question to the site engineer on some question that we dont know about
and some question that we are curious about.

Learning Experiences:

This day we are accompanied by Engr. David Rosario and we go to a

site inspection and visitation in a warehouse where they put their materials
that they will use in construction. As we go in the warehouse we did notice
that the construction materials are not organized and we also notice that
they have so many construction materials that is in the warehouse but the
other materials that we saw was rusty. Engr. David introduces us to Mr.
Elmer the one who is in-charge in the warehouse. After we scan the inside of
the warehouse Mr. Elmer decides to let us come to a fabrication area of
deformed bars. In the Fabrication area we saw many machines that they use
to cut different sizes of bars. We also saw a man that bends some deformed
bars to make stirrups and ties used for columns and beams.

Learning Experiences:

On this day, we went to a site that Engr. David Rosario visits for his
work in the company. We did see a lot of things that is going on the site that
we have so much fun that we did come to the site on this day. Engr. David
also teaches us about some construction matters that gave us some ideas
and knowledge that will help us in our future work. We learned so many
things in the site with the help of Engr. David.

Learning Experiences:

This day of our OJT, we feel kind of bored this day but we didnt let that
hinder us on learning new thing that we decided to make us busy on
practice our computer application skills such as using the Sketch Up,
AutoCAD and Vray Application. With this practice, we did hone our skills on
using the applications because this is also very important part of our skill to
be hone for so that we can do anything that our boss that will assigned us to
do in our future jobs.

Learning Experiences:

This day we are computing the finalized total cost of the Bolingit
project that was assigned us to do in the past few days. They said that we
will pass the complete work before lunch so we did our best to make our
work as quick as we can. Its the day when Jay-ar an OJT that is with us and
me went to one of property of Mr. George Li to measure its property with
Engr. Romeo and Electrical Engr. Jericho De Vera. After Jay-ar and I do that
task with Engr. Romeo and Engr. Jericho we did give the gathered data to
the AutoCAD operator to have it drawn.

Learning Experiences:

This day of our OJT, when Mr. George T. Li, the owner of the company;
Sir Andrew James Abrera the, department manager; and other workers in
the construction department came to the office. As they talk to each other
we did some practicing in the computer to make us busy. While we do our
thing in the computer Sir Bryan Tapia gave us another advice on some
shortcuts that we can use to make our skill even better on using the
applications that Sir Bryan uses and other CAD operators.

Learning Experiences:

This day of our OJT, we were accompanied by Engr. David Rosario in

the site to observe and take some picture of the site that we will use in our
portfolio and to have a remembrance on our days that we come to the site.
After we finish observing the site, Maam Joela gave us a task that Mr.
George Li said to her. The task was to estimate the bill of materials and
labor cost of a project entitled, Cut and Fill of Terrain/Concreting of Road at
Brgy. Palapad, San Fabian, Pangasinan. Maam Joela told us that Mr. George
Li need the task be finish in short period of time. But with the time that was
given to us we decided to finish it on the next day.

Learning Experiences:

Day 18 - May 5
This day of our OJT, we are finishing the task that was given to us last day.
We did our best to finish it with the correct activities that we know of
because we really dont know the activities that will be done on constructing
horizontal projects. With this experience we realized that we need to learn
so many things before we can interact and work to other engineers that we
will meet in our future works. But we did see a light that gave us hope
because Maam Joela said to us that we will start our site inspection and
field activities next week.
