Steps for configuring outlook Configuring Outlook 2007

a. After installing Outlook, click on the Outlook icon on the desktop

b. This will bring up the Outlook 2007 Startup. Click on Next


c. Check Yes and click on the Next button You can configure outlook to
Internet E-mail
d. Click on the Add button
e. regular Internet E-Mail setup
f. Fill in with all the information provided by your ISP or tech support.
g. If your Outgoing mail server requires authentication, click on the More
Settings button and enter the appropriate information
h. If your ISP uses something other than the default ports, click on the
Advanced tab and enter them.
i. Under the General Tab I like to put in the person's name or something
more descriptive than the default which is the e-mail address.
j. Click on OK which will bring you back to the main setup window
k. Click on Test Account Settings
l. If it works, then click on the Next and Finish buttons

Create a Separate Personal Calendar
1. Open Microsoft Office Outlook. Click "Go" in the top menu bar, then
click "Folder List."
2. Right-click "Calendar" under "Folder List," and then select "New
Folder."
Type a name for the new calendar, such as "Private Personal Calendar" in
the "Name" box. Click "OK."
Mark a Single Calendar Event as "Private"
3. Open Microsoft Outlook. Click "Go" in the top menu bar, then click
"Calendar."
4. Click the date of the event. Locate and double-click the event in the
daily calendar pane.
Click the "Private" box in the lower right corner of the screen. Click "Save
and Close."
Mark All Calendar Events as "Private" by Default
5. Open Microsoft Outlook. Click "Tools" in the top menu bar, point to
"Form," and then click "Design a Form."
6. Click "Appointment," and then click "Open." Click to check the "Private"
check box at the bottom of the window.
7. Click the "Publish Form Button" image on the toolbar directly under the
top menu bar. The button displays pictures of a diskette, ruler and small
blue triangle.
8. Type a name for your new appointment form, such as "Private
Appointment Form," in the "Display name" text box. Click "Publish."
9. Click the red "X" in the top right corner to close the appointment
design form. Click "No" when Outlook asks you if you want to save
changes to the form.
10.Click "Go" on the top menu bar, then click "Folder List."
11.Right-click "Calendar" in the Outlook navigation pane, and then click
"Properties."
12.Select the name of the form that you designed in step 4 from the
"When posting to this folder, use" pull-down menu. Click "OK."

Change appointment

If you want to change an appointment to a date that you can't see on the
Calendar, follow these steps:

1. Double-click the appointment.


The Appointment dialog box opens.

2. Click in the leftmost Start time block and then click the scroll-
down button to the right of the date.
A pull-down calendar appears.

3. Pick the month by clicking one of the triangles beside the month's
name.
Clicking the left triangle moves you one month earlier; clicking the right
triangle moves you one month later.

4. Click the day of the month that you want.


5. Click in the rightmost Start Time text box and enter the
appointment's new time, if you need to.
6. Make any other changes that you need in the appointment by
clicking the information that you want to change and typing the
revised information over it.
7. Click Save and Close.

5 . An intranet is a private computer network that uses Internet Protocol


technologies to securely share any part of an organization's information or
network operating system within that organization. Modules

Employees

The Employees module includes Personal and Employment details of the


companys employees. This is provided with restricted access so that only
authorized employees are able to view this information. A list with minimal
employee details, such as name, surname, position, department, telephone
may be accessible to all employees.

Telephone Messenger

One of the best modules of SpiderCMS. Messenger is a messaging system


which allows the employees of a company to leave messages to each other
check in/out of the office and reserve company cars.

Document Management

This module includes the companys documentation displayed by department


or position that they are related to. Access may be restricted so that
employees can only view the procedures concerning their department that
concern them and higher level managers to view all the complete
documentation list.

Project Management System


The Project Management System allows multiple projects with multiple
resources to be set multiple tasks and managed on the Intranet.

Wiki Module

The Wiki module will allow your organisation to record company information
in a wiki, which allows any employee to update the content. This provides a
collaborative approach.

6. Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) is a family of technologies that provides


digital data transmission over the wires of a local telephone network. DSL
originally stood for digital subscriber loop. In telecommunications marketing,
the term Digital Subscriber Line is widely understood to mean Asymmetric
Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), the most commonly installed technical variety
of DSL. DSL service is delivered simultaneously with regular telephone on the
same telephone line. This is possible because DSL uses a higher frequency.
These frequency bands are subsequently separated by filtering.

8. Rss feed
RSS (most commonly expanded as Really Simple Syndication) is a family
of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated workssuch as blog
entries, news headlines, audio, and videoin a standardized format

RSS is a way of providing content to the user's browser or desktop in an


efficient way. By using RSS feeds, the user can stay updated on the news
from TIL and other news sources with very little extra effort.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are normally provided in three ways:
headlines only, headlines with excerpts and full text feeds.

Search engine (sites) usually have their own database of sites they
craw and list in their database, for example Google, Yahoo, Ask.
Meta Search Engines (Meta search sites) usually do not have their
own database of crawled sites, they search the databases of real search
engines, usually many search engines at the same time, and provide
you results. So a meta search engine will give you results from say
Yahoo and Google, some meta search engines do have database of
sites submitted to them. Example of a meta search engine is DogPile.
