Shoulder joint (glenohumeral) Flex superficial shoulder "front" pec major, front deltoid+coracobrach, biceps (long) **brachial muscles that cross shoulder
ball and socket Extend superficial shoulder "back" back deltoid, latissimus d, teres major
Adduct below shoulder (scap spine) pec major, latissimus d, teres major shoulder joint muscles
Abduct above shoulder (scap spine) supraspinatus, then deltoid only
Int Rot anterior RC +++shoulder jt subscapularis, pec major, latissimus, teres major exceptions attach to front of humerus
Ext Rot posterior RC supra+infraspinatus, teres minor
Elbow joint hinge joint Flex anterior brachium biceps, brachialis, brachioradialis posterior --wraps around in front
Extend posterior brachium triceps, anconeus antebrach. --crosses elbow @ back
wrist joint Flex flexors of ant antebrachium all except pronators, brachioradialis posterior exception wraps in front
Extend superifical extensors of post AB do NOT include deep extensors (for fingers)
Abduct (radial dev) "carpi radialis" flexor carpi R, extensor carpi R
Adduct (ulnar dev) "carpi ulnaris" flexor carpi U, extensor carpi U, abductor carpi U
hip joint ball and socket Flex anterior hip illiacus, psoas, pectineus **pectineus is easy to forget!!
**less pattern-y than shoulder Extend posterior hip (superf)+thigh gluteus maximus, semimembranosus, semitendinosus, other gluteals not so powerful
biceps femoris (long) **thigh muscles cross femur head **this is analogous to the shoulder!
Adduct medial thigh+1 (@ shaft) gracilis, adductors, obturator externus+ pectineus pectineus is anterior hip but almost medial
Abduct posterior superficial hip gluteus medius+minimus, tensor fascia latae + (optional:
(@ trochanter/femur head) piriformis, only if flexed) a bit odd but consider posterior hip to oppose medial thigh
pectineus, gluteus medius+minimus, + *these glutes attach @ front, same
Int Rot *eclectic: glutes, semis, pectin. semimembranous+semitendinosus w/pectineus, semis attach medially
piriformis, gemellus (sup+inf), quadratus femoris, obturator **obturators stay together, sartorius is
more difficult to internus, gluteus maximus, obturator externus + weird (gum off of shoes position), biceps
reason through Ext Rot posterior hip (primarily DEEP)++ sartorius+biceps (if flexed) attach laterally
knee joint hinge joint Extend ant thigh (quadriceps) rectus femoris, 3 vastus
biceps, semitendin+membran, sartorius, gracilus + anterior/medial exceptions attach laterally below knee, crural
Flex post thigh (hamstrings)++ gastrocnemius + popliteus muscles cross popliteal space
**internal rotation @ knee by popliteus (wraps @ back of knee, lat down to medial)
ankle dorsiflex all anterior crurals (extensors) tib anterior, extensor hallicus+digitorum, fib tertius
plantarflex ALL posterior crurals posterior superificial, deep, lateral NOT popliteus
subtalar joint eversion "fibularis" (attach laterally) tertius, longis, brevis **this is analogous to the wrist!
inversion "tibialis" (attach medially) tibialis anterior and posterior
