Este manual se elabor pensando en su bienestar. El contenido
tiene instrucciones claras para que usted obtenga el mejor provecho
de su refrigerador en cuanto a seguridad, confort y ahorro de energa.
Lea este instructivo cuidadosamente antes de instalar su refrigerador,
de esto depende la validez de su garanta.

antes de conectar su refrigerador
indicaciones generales

Retire las bases, empaque y dems aditamentos del mismo.

Para quitar el pegamento dejado por las cintas adhesivas
de sujecin, se debe de utilizar un trapo humedecido con
agua y jabn neutro.

Seleccione el rea para ubicar el refrigerador, sta debe

mantenerse limpia y sin humedad para evitar problemas
de oxidacin.

colocacin

1 Aljelo de elementos que generen calor como estufas,

calentadores, o exponerlo a los rayos del sol, ya que
ocasionar que trabaje ms y sea menos eficiente,
incrementando el consumo de energa elctrica.

2 Considere las siguientes distancias mnimas para garantizar

una circulacin de aire adecuada, sobre todo si se va a
empotrar el producto: de 2 a 3 cm en los lados, 10 cm en
la parte posterior y de 5 a 10 cm en la parte superior.

No lo recargue contra la pared. Con esta medida estar

garantizando un correcto desempeo del producto,
impidiendo que los componentes de su refrigerador
toquen directamente las paredes o muebles, evitando
ruidos desagradables.

3 Para nivelar el refrigerador utilice los dos tornillos

niveladores, insrtelos y ajstelos de manera que
descansen firmemente en el piso.
La parte de enfrente deber quedar un poco ms alta
que la parte posterior dejando ligeramente inclinado
hacia atrs su refrigerador, esto facilitar que las puertas
cierren por s mismas, y evitar la prdida de fro.

Antes de conectar la clavija en el enchufe, limpie el interior

de su refrigerador usando un trapo o esponja suave y jabn
neutro, o una solucin de bicarbonato de sodio.

requisitos mnimos de la instalacin elctrica:

Caractersticas: 127 V ~ 60 Hz de uso residencial. Provista

preferentemente con un interruptor general y circuitos
independientes balanceados, protegidos por listn fusible
y/o pastilla termomagntica de 15 a 20 A Mx.

1 Su refrigerador est provisto de un cable tomacorriente

polarizado tipo Y con cable a tierra integrado. Por ningn
motivo elimine la tierra colocando un adaptador, ni corte
2 el cable para reemplazar su clavija por una de dos terminales.

Instale su refrigerador en el contacto ms cercano. Uso de

Extensin Elctrica: A causa de condiciones potencialmente
peligrosas, se recomienda EVITAR el uso de la misma. En el
caso de que decida utilizarla, es absolutamente necesario
que sea una conexin aprobada por un organismo certificado
la cual contenga conexin a tierra y soporte un rango mnimo

elctrico de 15A y 120V.

3 Por su seguridad, su instalacin debe ser realizada como

se muestra en la figura A.

Si su instalacin elctrica no cuenta con este tipo de contacto

adquiera uno, el cual debe ser instalado por un tcnico
calificado, de no ser as, es entera responsabilidad del

cliente cualquier riesgo personal y/o material que pueda
ocasionar el producto.

4 Evite en la medida de lo posible conectar otro aparato

elctrico en el mismo contacto que est utilizando para su
refrigerador mientras se encuentre en funcionamiento.
Esto evitar tener variaciones de voltaje y calentamientos
en el aparato.

5 Para conectar y desconectar su refrigerador, sujete el
tomacorriente por la clavija y estire. Nunca jale el cordn.

Si usted vive en una regin donde hay variaciones de

tensin nominal, tenga las siguientes precauciones:

s No conecte su refrigerador en el enchufe.

4 s Instale un regulador automtico de voltaje con una

potencia mnima de 1000 W.

s Asegrese que el regulador soporte las variaciones de

tensin que haya en su regin.

sPida que un electricista calificado verifique el enchufe

de la pared y el circuito, para asegurarse que la salida est
debidamente conectada a tierra.

sPara efectuar la conexin a tierra, siga las normas de puesta

a tierra y llame a un electricista calificado.

Si el cordn de alimentacin es daado, este debe ser

reemplazado por el fabricante, su agente de servicio o
personal calificado para evitar cualquier riesgo.

CALENTAMIENTODEZONASCERCANASALCONGELADOR

Su refrigerador cuenta con un dispositivo que evita la

condensacin. El calentamiento de algunas zonas externas
de su refrigerador es normal. Esto ocurre para evitar la
condensacin de gotas de agua en el exterior de su
refrigerador. No obstante, en condiciones de alta
temperatura y alta humedad en el ambiente, pudiera
llegar a formarse una ligera condensacin. Seque con un
trapo suave.

PRIMERACONEXIN

s Deje reposar el refrigerador de 4 a 6 horas antes de

conectarlo para que permita que repose el aceite del
compresor.

s Antes de conectar el refrigerador gire la perilla del

control de temperatura del enfriador hasta la posicin
media (entre 4-6).

s Conecte la clavija o enchufe a la corriente.

s Deje que funcione vaco y cerrado durante 4 horas antes

de introducir los alimentos.

s Evite abrir la puerta para que se alcance la temperatura

deseada.

s Si desea colocar su refrigerador en otro lugar debe des-

conectarlo antes de moverlo.

s Cuando ya est ubicado en el sitio elegido, repetir los

pasos ya mencionados.

1 control de temperatura del enfriador

Para regular la temperatura del compartimiento del
enfriador, se debe girar la perilla hacia la posicin deseada.
La perilla de control de temperatura del refrigerador
est ubicada en el interior de dicho compartimiento, en
algunos casos ser necesario el uso de una moneda para
hacer girar la perilla.

Temperatura Situaciones de uso

Pocos alimentos almacenados.
Mnima Poca frecuencia de apertura de puertas.
Posicin 1 a 3.

Posicin 4 a 6.
Muchos alimentos almacenados.

2 control de temperatura del congelador

La temperatura del compartimiento del congelador, se

1 ajusta seleccionando el nivel de congelamiento en la perilla
del control de temperatura, ubicada en el interior de
este compartimiento.

Congelamiento mnimo: Indicado para

Mnimo cuando hay pocos alimentos almacenados
en el congelador o poca frecuencia de
apertura de puertas.

Congelamiento medio: Indicado para uso

Medio
normal.

Congelamiento mximo: Indicado para

Mximo cuando hay gran cantidad de alimentos
almacenados en el congelador o existe
mucha frecuencia de apertura de puertas.

nota: La temperatura interior puede variar dependiendo

de la temperatura ambiente. En los meses de calor (verano)
es posible que el control de temperatura necesite ajustarse
para que enfre ms y en los meses de fro (invierno) para
que enfre menos.

Su refrigerador no necesita ser descongelado, ya que realiza

el deshielo automticamente (No Frost).

El sistema de enfriamiento Twist Air / Maxi Fro garantiza

que el fro circule de manera homognea al ser distribuido
por todo su refrigerador y mantiene las temperaturas
ptimas en cada rincn.

Es importante que las salidas para la circulacin de aire,

nunca estn obstruidas.

Al abrir la puerta de su refrigerador es normal que se

empaen las parrillas de cristal templado debido a la entrada
de humedad.

Dependiendo del modelo de su refrigerador, ste puede
estar provisto de varios tipos de cajones.

1 El cajn de carnes fras, puede ser ubicado en cualquier

punto a todo lo ancho de la parrilla; la ubicacin recomen-
dada para colocar la parrilla que sostiene al cajn es el
primer nivel de arriba hacia abajo.

El cajn para legumbres individual est diseado para

conservar frescas las frutas y verduras. Utilice la divisin
del cajn para no mezclar las y optimizar su acomodo
(slo aplica en algunos modelos).

2 Los modelos de lujo cuentan con 2 cajones para facilitar

el almacenamiento independiente de frutas y verduras.

3 En algunos modelos el cajn o los cajones cuentan con

control de humedad.
El cajn de legumbres mantiene la temperatura y humedad
adecuada para el almacenamiento de sus alimentos, con-
servando sus caractersticas naturales.

El uso adecuado del control de humedad permite regular

el paso de aire hacia el interior del cajn.

Es recomendable mantener el control en los orificios de

menor tamao para conservar los vegetales de hojas verdes,
y en los orificios de mayor tamao para la conservacin de
frutas.

para retirar los cajones:

Saque el cajn hasta el tope, levntelo ligeramente para

que salga de su riel y jlelo hacia afuera.

Si requiere retirar el ensamble de cajones y tapas, jlelo

como una parrilla normal.

parrillas

1 Algunos modelos cuentan con parrillas de cristal templado

con marco plstico y borde antiderrames. Esto evitar que
pequeos derrames de lquidos ensucien todo su refrige-
rador. O bien, otros modelos cuentan con parrillas de
alambrn. En ambos casos las parrillas son multiposiciones.
La carga mxima recomendada para esta parrilla, es de
25 kg (55 Lb).

en caso de que necesite retirar las parrillas de cristal

2 Remueva cualquier alimento u objeto apoyado en ellos.

3 Sujete la parrilla con las dos manos por la parte frontal,

como se muestra en la figura.

Empuje el cristal con las yemas de los dedos hacia usted

1 ligeramente.

Una vez que la parrilla se levant por la parte trasera,

desplcela hacia usted, sin soltarla.

4 Para volver a colocar la parrilla sobre el riel deseado,

asegrese que este riel quede entre la ceja de la parrilla y
la superficie, y empuje hasta sentir el tope de ensamble

de la parrilla.

Para cambiar las otras parrillas proceda de la misma forma.

medias parrillas

Su refrigerador puede contar con la versatilidad de las

medias parrillas, stas pueden ser colocadas nicamente
3 en los primeros tres niveles de su refrigerador.

Tenga cuidado de retirar todos los alimentos colocados

sobre esta rea y de sostenerla con ambas manos, si desea
ajustar o retirar las parrillas.

Para ajustar la posicin de sus parrillas, levante ligeramente

de la parte frontal de sta y deslice hacia el frente hasta que
quede liberada de los puntos que la sujetan; aproximadamente
a la mitad de la carrera de deslizamiento, retire lateralmente
la parrilla. Tenga cuidado de retirar todos los alimentos
colocados sobre esta rea y de sostenerla con ambas manos.

La colocacin de la media parrilla es muy similar, introduzca

hasta aproximadamente la parte central del gabinete, apoye
sta contra el lateral de su refrigerador y empuje hacia atrs
para que sta quede sujeta en sus puntos.

La parrilla no es completamente horizontal, tiene una ligera

elevacin en la parte central, con la finalidad de permitir que
quede horizontal cuando cosas pesadas sean colocadas en
sta; esto es completamente normal. La carga mxima reco-

mendada para esta parrilla, es de 8 kg (17.6 Lb.)

1 piso removible de congelador

En algunos modelos, el piso congelador puede ser retirado

para facilitar la limpieza en un posible derramamiento de
lquidos.

Jale el piso hacia usted para ser removido.

Evite que lquidos u objetos caigan al interior del ducto de

aire.

Para obtener un correcto funcionamiento del refrigerador, el

piso siempre debe de estar colocado en su posicin original;
despus de realizar cualquier limpieza, coloque nuevamente
el piso del congelador deslizndolo suavemente.

2 anaqueles

Segn el modelo de su refrigerador, puede venir equipado

con puerta de doble capacidad que es la ms grande del
mercado.

Algunos modelos cuentan con anaqueles deslizables los cuales
permiten gran versatilidad en el almacenamiento y distribucin 1
interna.

Para cambiar de posicin los anaqueles o retirarlos si as lo

desea, remueva primero los alimentos almacenados en estos
para evitar que se caigan durante el ajuste; deslice gentilmente
los anaqueles hasta la posicin deseada.

anaquel gaveta

1 Su refrigerador puede venir instalado de fbrica con la

gaveta, en la cual usted tiene la versatilidad y conveniencia
de almacenaje de cosas como mantequilla, latas y frascos
pequeos; se recomienda no almacenar quesos y carnes
fras en este espacio.
Para acceder a los anaqueles posteriores: levante ligeramente
el seguro de la gaveta para que sta pueda girar libremente;
asegrese de regresar a su posicin original y verifique
que quede asegurada.
La carga mxima recomendada es de 2 kg. (4 lb). Evite que
los menores se cuelguen del anaquel, ste se puede romper
debido al sobrepeso.

Antes de cerrar la puerta de su refrigerador verifique que

el anaquel gaveta est en su posicin original y sujeto
con el seguro.

anaquel ultracapacidad

2 Anaquel con gran capacidad y versatilidad en la puerta.

Usted puede almacenar recipientes grandes y botellas de
4 litros (un galn).

anaquel botellas y latas

3 Anaquel que proporciona el espacio justo para
almacenamiento de latas en la parte frontal y en la parte
posterior de este anaquel, usted podr almacenar botellas
altas. Adicionalmente, est ergonmicamente diseado
para que los productos puedan ser cmodamente
alcanzados.

4 Adecuado para colocar recipientes pequeos como yogurt

para beber, jugos, tetrapack, pequeos barnices de uas,
etc. es ideal para guardar pequeos frascos que se pudieran
llegar a voltear en otros anaqueles.

modelos de sper lujo (acero inoxidable)

Los modelos de sper lujo con display exterior estn

equipados con las siguientes funciones:

1 funcin de vacaciones

Esta funcin le permitir ahorrar energa cuando salga

de vacaciones (no se recomienda en salidas mayores a 15
das). En el caso que sean vacaciones de ms de 15 das,
desconecte, limpie y deje las puertas abiertas de su refrige-
rador para que se ventile.

La funcin de vacaciones se activa directamente oprimiendo

el botn, se desactiva oprimiendo nuevamente el botn
4 o al abrir la puerta del enfriador, usted podr notarlo
mediante una seal sonora y la parte superior del botn
se iluminar. Adems del indicador luminoso, usted podr
ver que el dgito de la pantalla avanzar lentamente hasta
desactivar la funcin.

2 turbo

Esta funcin acelera el tiempo de enfriamiento y por

consiguiente, aumenta la velocidad de congelamiento.

La funcin turbo se activa oprimiendo directamente el

botn y se desactiva oprimindolo nuevamente o despus
de cumplir con el ciclo ptimo establecido de acuerdo a
las necesidades especficas de cada aplicacin.

Adems del indicador luminoso, usted observar que el

dgito de la pantalla avanzar rpidamente por una hora.
Al trmino de este lapso, regresar a su condicin normal.

nota: No se pueden activar ambas funciones al mismo

tiempo.

3 alarma

Esta funcin le indica con una seal sonora cuando la

puerta del enfriador permanece abierta por ms de un 2
minuto, (dejar la puerta abierta hacer que el refrigerador
sea menos eficiente y que consuma ms energa).

Se activa o desactiva directamente oprimiendo el botn.

Usted podr advertirlo mediante una seal sonora, la
parte superior del botn se iluminar.

1 seguro

Esta funcin bloquear su display impidiendo que alguien

ms cambie su programacin.

Para activar o desactivar, pulse simultneamente por 3

segundos los botones de alarma y vacaciones. En la parte
central aparecer por unos instantes la letra L (Lock)
restaurndose nuevamente el nivel de fro.

2 nivel de fro

Esta funcin se encuentra tanto en el display interno

como externo.
Oprimiendo este botn aumenta el nivel de fro del
refrigerador, el rango va de 1 a 9, siendo 9 el ms fro.

nota: Su display es capaz de detectar la presencia de una

falla, la cual ser indicada por la letra F, cuando sto su-
ceda por favor llame a servicio tcnico.

Para el accionamiento de las funciones no se necesita una

fuerza excesiva sobre los botones. TODAS LAS FUNCIONES
TARDAN EN ACCIONARSE 2 SEGUNDOS.

Su refrigerador cuenta con un despachador de agua de

llenado manual que le permite obtener agua fra por el
exterior y disminuir el consumo de energa.

Limpie este sistema antes de usarse por primera vez y repita

Enjuguelo con agua limpia, despus trela y vuelva a colocar

Evite llenar el contenedor a tope para que no exista

desbordamiento del agua. El nivel mximo de agua est
indicado a 2.75 lts.

El fabricante no se hace responsable por el uso del

despachador con otro tipo de lquidos ajenos al agua
natural ya que stos pueden causar un mal
funcionamiento en el sistema.

Si el contenedor de agua no est bien colocado puede

haber escurrimiento y no saldr agua por el dispensador
de la puerta.

Es posible que, si el despachador de agua deja de

utilizarse peridicamente, el agua tenga un sabor extrao
en las ejecuciones posteriores.

No remueva las partes del despachador excepto el

tanque, la tapa del tanque y la rejilla colectora de gotas.

Despus de despachar agua, la cada de algunas gotas es

normal, usted puede minimizar esto retirando el vaso
lentamente de la palanca o actuador.

En algunos casos, debido a que se forma una ligera

condensacin, tambin es posible que puedan caer
algunas gotas.

Llenado del contenedor de agua

Para abastecer el agua, retire la tapa como se muestra en

la figura D, vierta EXCLUSIVAMENTE AGUA PURA Y
POTABLE con un vaso o una jarra hasta que el lquido
llegue a la medida de 2.75Lts marcada en el extremo
derecho del tanque.

Coloque la tapa nuevamente ejerciendo presin.
(Ver figura E)

IMPORTANTE: No vierta agua hasta que el tanque est

deslizndola hacia adentro y hacia abajo (Ver figura G).

1 Practihielo
Algunos modelos cuentan con un dispositivo diseado
para la ptima fabricacin de hielo, el Practihielo. El cual
se encuentra ubicado en la puerta del congelador
proporcionndole un mayor espacio en el interior para
congelar sus alimentos.

nota: Cuando utilice el Practihielo es muy importante que

los anaqueles del congelador estn colocados.

3 Para obtener los hielos retire el cajon jalndolo hacia usted.

4 Para llenar nuevamente las hieleras, retire el cassette

deslizndolo con cuidado hacia afuera.

5 Una vez afuera de su congelador gire el cassette en sentido

opuesto a las manecillas del reloj, hasta dejarlo horizontal
sobre una superficie plana antes de llenarlo. S a usted se
le hace ms sencillo llenarlo verticalmente, tambin puede
hacerlo.

6 Las hieleras cuentan con un control de nivel de agua, s usted

lo excede, el agua se derramar.

7 Con las perillas de frente a usted, gire el cassette en sentido

de las manecillas del reloj. Las hieleras quedaran en posicion
horizontal.

8 Finalmente, coloque de nuevo el cassette dentro del practi-

hielo. Desplcelo sobre sus rieles asegurando que llegue hasta
final. Espere a que se haga el hielo.

Asegrese de secar el exceso de agua en la parte inferior del

cassette antes de introducirlo a su congelador.

Desmoldar
9 Gire cada perilla en el sentido de las manecillas del reloj hasta
que caigan los hielos en el cajn de la parte inferior. El cajn
slo puede almacenar los hielos de las 3 hileras.

Asegrese que el cajn de hielos est vacio antes del siguiente 6

desmoldeo de hielos.

Limpiela base donde es colocado el cajn por lo menos una

vez a la semana.

recomendaciones de conservacin

Se recomienda guardar los alimentos en recipientes con tapa,
empacados o utilizando materiales que los mantengan sella-
dos, tales como papel aluminio, algn plastificado o usando
un portaviandas.

No coloque alimentos calientes en el enfriador o el congelador,

espere a que tomen la temperatura ambiente.

Procure abrir las puertas solamente el tiempo necesario para 8

colocar o retirar alimentos o bebidas. De esta forma usted
reducir el consumo de energa y mejorando el rendimiento
de su refrigerador.

Si est abriendo y cerrando constantemente la puerta del

enfriador para introducir o retirar alimentos, sta puede
presentar algo de dificultad para abrirse. Esto es normal debido
al vaco que se forma en el interior del refrigerador por el
intercambio de aire de diferentes temperaturas. Espere de 10 9
a 15 segundos y las puertas abrirn con facilidad nuevamente.

Guarde siempre la cebolla dentro de una bolsa de plstico o

recipiente hermtico para evitar que su olor contamine.

No guarde ajo dentro del refrigerador, el fro y la obscuridad

promueven su germinacin.

Al almacenar los alimentos en el congelador, prepare

pequeas porciones, esto facilitar un congelamiento
ms rpido y una utilizacin integral de cada porcin.

1 Si desea congelar rpidamente alimentos o fabricar cubos

de hielo, se recomienda colocarlos sobre la parrilla del
congelador.

Observe siempre la fecha de caducidad de los productos

congelados indicada por el fabricante.

Una vez descongelado un alimento no podr ser congelado

nuevamente.

Los lquidos aumentan su volumen cuando son congelados.

Por eso tome la precaucin de no llenar hasta el borde
con sustancias lquidas los recipientes.

No colocar en el congelador recipientes cerrados de vidrio,

conteniendo lquidos. La rotura de recipientes de vidrio
puede provocar daos graves en el congelador.

2 Siempre desconecte la clavija del enchufe de su refrigerador,

antes de efectuar cualquier tipo de limpieza o verificacin
tcnica.

3 Nunca utilice productos txicos (Amoniaco, etc.) o abrasivos

(pastas, etc.) ni fibras que daen el producto.

Utilice una esponja suave o trapo humedecido en agua

con un jabn neutro. Enjuague y seque bien con un trapo
limpio y seco.

Tambin puede utilizarse para limpiar el interior, una
solucin de una cucharada de bicarbonato de sodio en
dos litros de agua tibia.

No utilice fibras ni objetos afilados o puntiagudos que

puedan rayar el refrigerador, las parrillas o los anaqueles
interiores.

2 Para limpiar el condensador (en los modelos que lo tengan)

utilice un cepillo, trapo o esponja para eliminar el polvo
acumulado.

Procure limpiar y lavar su refrigerador por lo menos cada

seis meses.

8 Tome el Practihielo y llvelo hacia la puerta de su congelador.

Introduzca la gua inferior del soporte en el extremo izquierdo
de la ranura trasera de la puerta congelador.

9 Empuje la parte superior del Practihielo hasta que el soporte

entre en el fondo de la puerta.

10 Deslice su Practihielo hacia la derecha dejndolo en su

posicin original.
11 Coloque los anaqueles, el cassette y el cajn de hielos.

Deje la puerta entreabierta, colocando algn objeto que

la concentracin de malos olores.

Para periodos cortos de ausencia, su refrigerador podr

fallas en el suministro de energa elctrica

La mayora de las interrupciones en el suministro de energa
elctrica son corregidas en pocas horas. La temperatura
interior no se afecta hasta antes de 4 horas. Si la falla elctrica
persiste por ms de 6 horas, le sugerimos que introduzca
2 bolsas de hielo en ambos compartimentos para ayudar a la
conservacin de los alimentos.

Si su modelo cuenta con funcin de Vacaciones y Turbo, en

una falla elctrica, stas se tendrn que volver a ajustar.

No hay ninguna afectacin de su refrigerador al restablecer

la energa elctrica.

ruidos considerados normales

Algunos ruidos son considerados propios del funcionamiento
del refrigerador. A continuacin, presentamos una tabla
descriptiva de los ruidos caractersticos del funcionamiento.

crujidos

Los crujidos se escuchan cuando el hielo se rompe. Es el mismo

ruido que ocurre cuando las charolas de hielo son retiradas
del congelador y expuestas a la temperatura ambiente.

ruido del compresor

Ruido caracterstico de motor. Significa que el compresor est

en funcionamiento.

ruido de expansin de gas

Ruido caracterstico de la expansin del gas en el sistema de

refrigeracin. Es un ruido semejante al generado cuando se
llena un baln de aire.

ruido de deshielo

Ruido caracterstico de agua escurriendo. Ocurre cuando el

producto est haciendo el deshielo.

ruido del sistema de ventilacin

Ruido caracterstico de ventilador, que muestra que el sistema

Se garantiza dependiendo el modelo y pas (ver tabla anexa) a partir de la fecha de compra,
contra cualquier defecto atribuible a la calidad de sus materiales o mano de obra durante su
fabricacin, bajo las siguientes condiciones:
1) Para hacer efectiva esta garanta, deber recurrir a cualquiera de nuestros Centros de
Servicio SERVIPLUS, llamando a los telfonos que se indican en el directorio que forma parte
de esta garanta y donde podr obtener las partes, refacciones, consumibles y accesorios.
2) Mabe S.A. de C.V. se compromete a reparar o reemplazar cualquier parte del
producto encontrada con falla, en el domicilio del cliente y sin ningn cargo para el
consumidor por concepto de mano de obra, refacciones y gastos de transportacin del
producto que pudieran generarse. Los tcnicos de SERVIPLUS estn capacitados y cuentan
con las herramientas necesarias para hacer las reparaciones a domicilio, asegurndose de que
el producto funcione correctamente. MABE garantiza la disponibilidad de repuestos e
insumos en el mercado por un tiempo de diez aos (solo aplica para Colombia)
3) Cuando nuestro tcnico de Serviplus asista a revisar el producto, se deber presentar el
producto con la pliza de garanta debidamente sellada por la casa comercial donde se
adquiri, o la factura, nota o comprobante de compra.
4) El tiempo de reparacin no exceder de 30 das, contados a partir de la recepcin de la
llamada en nuestros Centros de Servicio SERVIPLUS.
5) El foco no entra en la garanta.
6) La garanta no podr hacerse efectiva en los siguientes casos:
s3I el producto ha sido usado en condiciones distintas de las normales.
sSi no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso proporcionado en idioma
espaol.
sSi el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personas y/o talleres de servicio no
autorizados.
7) Limitaciones de la Garanta. Esta Garanta no ser vlida:
sSi no presenta la pliza de garanta debidamente sellada, factura, nota, o algn otro
documento.
que acredite la fecha de compra del producto.
s3I el producto se encuentra fuera del periodo de garanta otorgado por el fabricante.
sSi ha sido utilizado con fines comerciales, de prestacin de servicios o cualquier otro

general instructions

Remove the bases, packaging and accessories. Remove

the adhesive tape residue with a cloth soaked in water
and neutral soap.

Choose the location of the refrigerator. This area should

be kept clean and dry to avoid rust.

placement
1 Do not install the refrigerator near heat sources like
stoves, radiators, or in direct sunlight, as this will cause
it to overwork and be less efficient, there by increasing
its consumption of electrical energy.

2 Allow the following minimum space to ensure adequate

air circulation, especially if the appliance is going to be
fixed to the wall: 2 to 3 cm on each side, 10 cm at the
back and 5 to 10 cm on top.

Do not lean it against a wall. By complying with this, you

will be ensured of the correct positioning of the product,
preventing your refrigerator components from directly
coming into contact with walls or furniture, thereby
avoiding disagreeable noise.

Characteristics: 127V~60Hz for residential use. Ideally

equipped with a main switch and separate balanced
circuits, protected by fuses and/or a circuit breaker of 15 to
20 amperes max.

1 Your refrigerator comes equipped with an AC power cord,

apolarized Y-type cable or integrated grounding. Under
no circumstances must the grounding be removed to
connect an adapter plug or cut and/or replaced bya
2-prong plug.

of AC outlet, obtain one, and have it installed by a quali-

1 fresh food compartment temperature control

To regulate the temperature of the fresh food compartment,

turn the knob to the desired position. The refrigerator
temperature control is found inside the compartment. It
may be necessary to use a coin to turn the control.

"Twist Air" / "Maxi Frio" cooling system

It is not necessary to defrost your refrigerator as it defrosts
automatically (No Frost).

The Twist Air / Maxi Frio cooling system guarantees the even
circulation of cold air and its distribution to all parts of your
refrigerator, thereby maintaining the optimum temperature
throughout.

The air disperser in this system acts as a fan. It distributes

the cold air in the freezer and the cooling tower. It is very
important never obstruct or block the air vents.

The cooling tower, which is situated in the fresh food

compartment, has air outlets which ensure that your food is
maintained at the correct temperature.

On opening the door of your refrigerator, it is normal for

the tempered glass shelves to steam up because of the
1 introduction of moisture.

1 drawers

Your refrigerator comes equipped with various types of

drawers, depending on the model.

2 The cold meats drawer may be situated on any point along

the width of the shelf; it is recommended to place the shelf
which supports the drawer on the first level from top to
bottom.

3 The individual vegetable drawer is designed to preserve fresh

fruits and vegetables. Make use of the drawer division so as
not to mix the fruits and vegetables and to optimize their
placement (this only applies in certain models).

3 The luxury models contain 2 drawers to facilitate the separate

storage of fruits and vegetables.

4 In some models the drawer or drawers have a humidity control.

The vegetable drawer maintains a suitable temperature and
humidity for the storage of foods, thereby preserving their

natural characteristics.

The correct usage of the humidity control ensures the adequate

flow of air into the interior of the drawer.

It is recommended to use the humidity control in the smaller

compartments to preserve green vegetables and in the larger
compartments to preserve fruit.

Remove the drawer until the ceiling, lift slightly to emerge

from its riel and pull out.

If you require withdraw the ensemble of drawers and covers,

pull as a normal grill.

shelves

Some models have spill-proof shelves tempered glass shelves

with plastic frames and anti-spill edges, which prevent
small liquid spillages in your refrigerator.
Other models have wire shelves. Both kind of shelves are
multipositional. The maximum recommended load for
the shelf is 25 kg (55Lb).

if it is necessary to remove the glass shelves:

1 Remove all foods and objects placed on them.

2 Place both hands on the front part of the shelf, as

demonstrated in the picture.

With your fingertips, gently pull the shelf towards

you.

3 Once the rear section of the shelf is lifted, pull it
towards you, taking care to grasp it firmly.

4 To replace the shelve on the desireds upport, make

sure that the support is between the shelf edge and
the surface, as shown in the picture, and push it until you
feel the catch of the shelf joint.

5 To change the position of other shelves, proceed in
the same manner.

Your refrigerator may be equipped with half shelves.

These can be used only on the first three levels of your railway
refrigerator. 4

When adjusting or removing the shelves, make sure to

remove all food items stored in this area and to hold the
shelves with both hands.

To adjust the position of your half shelves, lightly lift the

front of the shelf and slide it forward until it rests loosely
on the support points; when it is approximately half way
to these points, shift the shelf to the side.

The placement of the half shelf is similar: introduce it to

approximately the mid-point of the refrigerator, rest it
against the side of the refrigerator and push backwards
until it rests on its support points.

The shelf is not completely horizontal, it is slightly raised

in the center so that when heavy objects are placed on it
it levels out - this is completely normal. The maximum
recommended load for this shelf is 8 kg (17.6 lb).

1 removable freezer base

Only certain models come equipped with a removable

base.

The freezer base can be removed to facilitate cleaning if

liquid spillage occurs.

To remove the base, pull it towards you.

Do not let liquids and objects fall against the interior air
vent.

For your refrigerator to run well, ensure that the base is

always in its correct position; after cleaning, replace the
base by sliding it smoothly into place.

2 door bins

Depending on its model, your refrigerator comes equipped

with a double deep door (which is the largest on the
market), and some of the following shelves (depending
on the model):

slide-out bins

1 Some models have slide-out bins which allow greater

versatility of internal storage and distribution. To move
the slide-out bins, gently slide them into the desired position.
Remove any foods which may be stored on them to avoid
their falling over during the adjustment.

door compartment bins

1 Your refrigerator may come equipped with a door

compartment bin, which gives you the option of
conveniently storing foods like butter, cans and small
jars; it is not recommended to store cheeses and meats in
this area.

To put the rear shelves into place: gently raise the safety
catch on the door compartment bin so that the catch can
turn easily; make sure to return it to its original position
and check that it is secure.

The maximum load recommended is 2 kg. (4 lb.) Do not

allow children to hang on the bin as it will break if
overloaded.

Before closing the door of your refrigerator, make sure
that the removable compartment bin is in its original
position and is secured by the safety catch.

super luxury models (stainless steel)

The super luxury models with exterior display are equipped

with the following functions:

1 vacation function

This function permits you to save energy when you go on

vacation (15 days maximum recommended). If vacations
exceed 15 days, disconnect your refrigerator, clean it and
leave the doors open in order for it to ventilate.

The vacation function is activated by depressing the button

and deactivated by once again depressing the button, or,
on opening the refrigerator door, an alarm will go off and
the upper part of the light will become illuminated,
advising you that the vacation function has been set. In
addition to the illuminated indicator, you will see the
screen digit slowing advancing until the function has been
desactivated.

2 turbo

This function accelerates the cooling down time and

consequently speeds up the freezing time. The turbo
function is activated by depressing the button and is
deactivated by depressing it again or on completion of
your chosen cycle according to what your specific
requirements are. In addition to the illuminated indicator,
you will notice the screen function advancing rapidly for
one hour. On completion it will return to its normal
condition.

1 note: You cannot activate both functions at the same

time.

3 alarm

The alarm goes off when the door of the refrigerator is

left open for more than one minute (causing the refrigerator
2 to be less effi cient and to consume more energy). It is
activated or deactivated by pressing the button. An alarm
gives you warning in which case the upper part of the
button will become illuminated.

lock

1 This function locks the display so that the programming

cannot be changed by anyone else.
To activate or deactivate it, pulse the alarm and vacation
buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The letter L (Lock)
will appear in the center for a few seconds, restoring the
temperature.

2 This function is found on both the internal and the external

display.

Pressing this button will make the refrigerator colder. The

temperature range is from 1 to 9, with 9 being the coldest.

Note: Your display is capable to detect the presence of a

malfunction, which will be indicated by the letter F. If this
happens, please call your technical service center. For activate
all functions excessive force for pressing buttons is not
needed. ALL FUNCTIONS TAKE 2 SECONDS FOR BEEN
ACTIVATED.

Water Dispenser
(Applies for some models)

Your fridge has a manual filling water dispenser, that $

let you obtain cold water on the outside and reduce
the energy consumption.

Clean this system before first use and repeat every 30 %

days without resorting to a cleansing agent or any
otheraromatic cleaners. To do so, remove the tank up
toward the front and exerting pressure as indicated in
the figure A. Rinse with clean water, then pull and open and fill with water

replace the tank.

The manufacturer is not responsible for the use of the

container with another type of liquid outside the natural

drain or wring and the water will not be discharge by the
dispenser of the door.

It is possible that, if the water dispenser ceases to be

used regularly, water would have a strange taste in
subsequent executions.

Do not remove any water dispenser parts, except the

tank, the cover of the tank and the collector grid of drops

6 Finally, put the cassette back into the Ice Factory. Move it
on its rails as far as it will go. And wait for the ice tobe
made. Be sure to dry excess water from the bottom of the
cassette before putting it in your freezer.

Unmolding

7 Turn or twist each knob in the clockwise direction until

the ice cubes fall into the drawer below. The drawer can
only store the ice from the three molds.
Make sure the ice drawer is empty before unmolding the
next batch of ice.
4 Clean the surface under the drawer at least once a week.

caring for your refrigerator

We recommend storing food in containers with lids,
wrapped in or stored in airtight materials such as aluminum
foil, plastic containers or plastic wrap.

8 Do not store hot foods in the fresh food compartment or
freezer. You should wait until they have cooled down to
room temperature.

Only open the doors for the necessary time to store or

remove food items or drinks. By doing this you will reduce
energy consumption and improve the performance of
6 your refrigerator.

It may be difficult to open the door again after having

opened and closed it to introduce or remove foods. This
is normal due to the vacuum that forms in the interior of
the refrigerator caused by the exchange of air at different
temperatures. If this happens, wait 10 to 15 seconds before
trying again and the doors should open easily.

Always store onions in a plastic bag or a hermetically-
sealed container to prevent their odor from penetrating
other foods.

Do not store garlic inside your refrigerator as a cold, dark

environment promotes its germination.

1 Store foods in small quantities in the freezer as this facilitates

quicker and more effective freezing. We recommend placing
food that you would like to freeze rapidly or ice cubes on the
freezer shelf.

Always take note of the manufacturers expiry date on frozen

products. Once food has been defrosted, it cannot be refrozen.

Liquids increase in volume when frozen. For this reason, do

not fill recipients up to the brim with liquids.

Do not store closed glass recipients containing liquids in the

freezer. The breakage of glass recipients could badly damage
the freezer.

cleaning your refrigerator

2 Always disconnect the refrigerator plug from the outlet

before cleaning or before starting a technical revision.

3 Never use toxic products (like ammonia, etc), abrasive

products (pastes) or fibers as they can damage the refrigerator.
Do not use fibers or sharp or pointed objects which can
scratch your refrigerator or the interior shelves.
Use a soft sponge or a cloth which has been soaked in water
and a mild soap. Rinse and dry well with a clean, dry cloth.
You can also use a solution of one spoon of bicarbonate of
soda and two liters of warm water to clean the interior.

To clean the condenser (on the models which have them),

use a brush, cloth or sponge to eliminate accumulated dust.
Do this at least every six months.

CLEANING%ASYICE
For the easy cleaning of your Easy Ice, we recommend
you disassemble it as follows:

1 Remove the shelves from the door, the ice drawer and
the cassette.

2 In the freezer door, slide de Easy Ice sideways to the left

3 Remove the upper part of the Easy Ice from its mount,
holding the sides in both hands and pulling it towards

4 To disassemble the cassettes components you most push

5 Wash the parts of the Easy Ice using just a soft sponge

wash it, especially the ice molds.

The cover of the Easy Ice may become detached during

pin B cleaning. To put it back, the lower guides of the cover
must enter the holes in the base of the mount, then you
pin C should line up the lateral guide of the cover with the
slide of the mount and press the cover onto the mount
pin A until you can hear it has fitted on. The cassette should
not be inserted until the cover is in place.

6 To assemble the cassette put pin A into hole O making

sure pin B enters slot R. Push the ice mold until pin C is
fixed in position. Put on the knob making sure it is firmly
fixed to ice mold. Repeat these steps whit the three ice
molds.

7 Take the Easy Ice to the door of your freezer. Put the
lower guide of the mount into the extreme left side of
the rear slot of the freezer door.

8 Push the upper part of the Easy Ice until the mount
enters into the back of the door.

9 Slide the Easy Ice to the right, leaving it in its original

position.

10 Put the shelves, the cassette and the ice drawer back in
place.

trips and absences

1 On prolonged absences, disconnect the plug from the

wall outlet. Leave your refrigerator empty and clean. This
includes the ice trays.

Leave the door ajar, placing an object behind it to prevent

it from closing. This facilitates air circulation and stops
bad odors from forming.

For short periods of absence, your refrigerator can stay

connected. But be aware that there is always the possibility
of power cuts while you are away.

2 If you need to place the refrigerator in a horizontal position

in order to transport it, place it only on its left side (when
viewing your refrigerator from the front).

Before changing your refrigerators location, screw the

leveling screws in as far as they will go.

problems with the electrical supply

The majority of power cuts are corrected in a few hours.

The interior temperature of your refrigerator will not be
affected for 4 hours. If the electrical failure persists for
more than 6 hours we suggest you to introduce ice bags
in both compartments to help to preserve foods.

If your model is equipped with the function Vacations

and Turbo, in the case of a power cut these will return to
their state of non activation (functions indicator will be
switched off). Your refrigerator will not be affected in
any way on the resumption of power.

normal operating sounds

Some sounds are normal when your refrigerator is

operating. Following is a table describing the different
sounds that are characteristic of its functioning: 1

crunching

Crunching is heard when ice breaks. This is the same

noise that is heard when ice trays are removed from the
freezer and exposed to room temperature.

compressor

This is a normal sound caused by the running of the motor.

It means the compressor is functioning.

gas expansion

Characteristic of the expansion of gas in the refrigeration

system. It is similar to the noise heard when filling a gas
cylinder.

defrosting
This sounds like running water. This occurs when the
refrigerator is going through the defrosting process.

bubbling water

This occurs in the defrosting cycle and stops heat from

entering the unit.

safety instructions
Do not touch the interior walls of the Freezer with wet
hands.

Do not allow children to hang from the doors and/or

play near the Refrigerator when the door is open as they
could get injured or trapped inside.

When you need to change the light bulb, disconnect your

refrigerator to avoid any electrical discharge. Also, make
sure thet the new ligth bulb has the same characteristics,
power (Watts) and size.

Warranty
This warranty covers according to the model an country (see table below) as of the purchase date, against any
defect attributable to the materials quality or labor during manufacturing, under the following conditions:

1) For this warranty to be effective, the consumer must apply to any of our SERVIPLUS Service Centers
by calling the telephone numbers indicated in the directory which constitute part of this warranty
and where parts, spare parts, consumables and accessories can be obtained.
2) Mabe S.A. de C.V. undertakes to repair or replace any part of the product found to be defective, at
the home of the client and at no charge to the customer for labor, spare parts or transportation of
the product. The SERVIPLUS technicians are trained and have the necessary tools for carrying out the
repairs at home, ensuring the correct functioning of the product. MABE guaranteesthe availability of
spare parts and supplies on the market for ten years (only applies to Colombia),
3) When our technician from SERVIPLUS arrives to examine the product, the product together with the
warranty policy duly stamped by the sales outlet from where it was bought, or an invoice, sales receipt
or other proof of purchase should be presented.
4) The repair time shall not exceed 30 days, starting from the receipt of the telephone call at our
SERVIPLUS Service Centers.
5) The light bulb is not part of the warranty.
6) The warranty will not be valid in the following cases:
s If the duly signed warranty, an invoice, sales receipt or any other document that proves the date of
purchase of the product is not presented.
s If the warranty has expired and is not within the warranty period authorized by the manufacturer.
s If the product has been used for commercial purposes, professional services or any other use that is
not wholly domestic.
s If the product has been used outside of normal conditions.
s If the product has not been operated in accordance with its English instruction manual.
s If the product has been modified or repaired by unauthorized technicians or service centers.
s Damages to the paint work and parts constituting its appearance when the product has been
exposed to the outdoors.
s Breakage of parts due to mishandling.
s Damages due to power surges caused by short circuits, accidental overloading of the power cord or
overloading because of electrical discharge.
s Damages caused by the use of parts that are not original.
s Damage to the product during its transportation, when said transportation is undertaken by the
client.
