there are four e-board members (President, VP, PR, & Secretary) and an advisor. Collectively,
PsyClub hosts weekly events that covers information about psychology and NUs Psychology
Department. As Vice President, I feel it is necessary to come up with new formatting to help
organize PysClubs extensive list of events. In the past, the e-board has merely put the
presenters names on Google Calendar according to the day that they were going to present.
Because the information on this calendar is limited, I feel that there have been a few issues. For
one, this makes it difficult for the Public Relations Officer to collect the information needed to
send out comprehensive event promotions. The presenters name does not provide sufficient
information needed to create a promotional newsletter. I also feel that the current system
makes it difficult for club members to be well informed about each event. Similarly, PsyClubs
current approach to organization disallows proper communication with the club advisor; he is
often unable to be engaged with the process of creating events. I believe that a simplified
method to retrieve this information would really improve PsyClubs understanding of each
event, encourage collaboration amongst both e-board members and the advisor, and increase
upcoming event for the Fall Semester of 2017. I will share this document with the e-board
members as well as the club advisor. The first few slides are dedicated to organizing the
essential pieces of information about PsyClub. The second slide is a list of everyones name that
contains the advisor and e-board members. Next to this list are four circles (what I call
bubbles) that contain links to PsyClubs most important documents and website. These
include the Contract bubble (PsyClub Contract), the Contact bubble (contact information),
the Mailing bubble (website used to make promotions), and the Website bubble (PsyClubs
website). The next set of slides allows each e-board member to write down his or her ideas they
have for upcoming events. I believe that this new method will improve communication and
The rest of the slides are provided as a shortcut to the information needed to understand each
event, and to send out promotions for it. There are two slides for each event. The information
slide is to ensure the title, the presenter(s), the description of the event, the location and the
time are all adequately provided. The second slide contains two bubbles and is used to collect
the images needed to create the promotional newsletters. The Event bubble will be used as a
place to insert (and retrieve) the image that represents the given event. The Presenter bubble
will act as a place to insert (and retrieve) the image of the given presenter. This new method of
organization will improve PsyClubs understanding of each event and provide efficiency when
making promotions.
This new document would not replace PsyClubs Google Calendar since that method still
maintains a clearer temporal outline of the events; i.e., the Google Slides documents main goal
is to centralize more information of each event. Each member of the e-board will contribute to
adding and updating the information of each event. This will simplify collaboration amongst the
