Course Description:
In geometry, you can expect to find topics involving points, lines, shapes and lots of formulas
and properties. Compasses, rulers and protractors will be used.

Textbook, paper, pencil, pen, calculator
Class Expectations:
This classroom is one where every person should feel welcomed, respected, and not afraid to
make a mistake. We need to treat each other in the same way that we wish to be treated. I
expect my students to act safely, responsibly, productively, and respectfully. All are expected
to follow the Student Code of Conduct found in the student handbook.
Other Notes:
In my classroom, I have high expectations and are going to challenge you, but also be
there to support you.
Cell phones are not allowed. Phones must be turned off and put away when the bell
rings to start class. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a minor offense, and the
next offense it will be taken away to be picked up in the office. (Student Handbook)
Students found cheating will automatically receive a zero on the test and may also
receive a suspension from school. (Student Handbook)

A 92.5 100% C+ 77.5-79.4%
A- 89.5-92.4% C 72.5-77.4%
C- 69.5-72.4%

B+ 87.5-89.4% D+ 67.5-69.4%
B 82.5-87.4% D 62.5-67.4%
B- 79.5-82.4% D- 59.5-62.4%
F Below 59.4%
Grading:
Quarter: Summative: 100% Formative: 0%
The quarterly grades will be comprised of 100% Summative Tests. Tests will occur at the end
of each unit. Retakes will be allowed if the following requirements are met. (see below) If a
student is absent on the day of the original test, then they will need to use the retake as their
only chance for taking the test. There will be no retake of the retake. If you know that you will
be absent on the day of the original test (example: field trip, sports, etc.), then you will be
allowed to make arrangements to take the test early, and keep the eligibility of having an
opportunity for a retake.

Summative Tests will be returned for you to see, but you will NOT be allowed to keep. If you
wish to go over your test with me, you must arrange for a time to meet.

The summative test retake window will only be open for 1 week following the day of the
original test being returned.

Semester: 42.5% for each quarter 15% for comprehensive final

*Comprehensive Semester Final: This means you will be tested on all material we have
learned throughout the semester.

Geometry Assessment Retake Policy

Preparing for assessments is an important part of the learning process and it is the
responsibility of the individual to be an active participator in class. Completing homework
assignments, participating in classroom activities, and seeking help prior to an assessment will
help you to be prepared.

Occasionally, circumstances can interfere and you may not perform up to your true
ability. In this event, Assessment retakes will be offered to those who have

1. completed all homework assignments for that unit

2. completed the Review given for that unit

3. arrange a time to meet with the teacher

The assessment retake window will only be open for 1 week following the day the test is
corrected.
Extra Credit: Extra credit is rarely if ever provided in Geometry. If an extra credit opportunity
should arise, it will be given to the entire class. Students may not request extra credit

Retake Test Form
