Early Strength of
Wet-Mix Shotcrete
Recent years have seen an increasing number
of methods being used to determine the (sometimes
very) early strength of shotcrete. In some cases,
compressive strength values have been obtained
as early as 4 h to allow a shorter work cycle,
especially in mining or tunnelling operations. The
question that arises from such an extreme case is
quite important from an engineering point of
view: Is the value of the compressive strength

Jolin is currently involved in projects on set-accelerators, reinforcement

interests include infrastructure durability and life cycle.
