TRY TO READ THIS: This BlazBlue Story Compendium is basically an attempt by me to gather the various

story elements of BlazBlue and put them together so they can be easily viewed at any time. Think of it as
a BlazBlue story dictionary. Most of the information here is obtained through: the games themselves,
official source material released about the game, and deductions/seemingly accurate speculations based
on information given through the first two mediums.

Some of the information here may be wrong due to poor remembrance or a failure to comprehend the
information by me, and if that’s the case PLEASE CALL ME OUT ON IT. Another part of the information
may be wrong because it is complete speculation based on a variety of facts revealed during the game
and other material that have not been confirmed nor denied. I have only included these speculations
because they make more sense than they do not and fit particularly well with the true aspects of the
story. If any information is proven to be wrong or contradicts further information in the story or that is
revealed about BlazBlue then they will be removed in future versions.

My desire is that as people clarify some of my info and as more information is released, we can perfect
this compendium and all understand the universe of BlazBlue better. I know I am vague on some of the
terms and events but they are mostly just terms that are easily picked up through the game such as the
NOL or events that required me to shorten their explanation. Please try to ignore spelling or grammar
inconsistencies as I tried by my best to keep things as short as possible. If there are any questions,
please ask and I will answer to the best of my ability. Obviously there are CT and CS spoilers, so read at
your own digression.

I. Characters

A brief summary of a character from the events before CT up through CS true ending + canons as well as
any extra info about that character that has been revealed. Since there is some confusion between CT's
canon's and CS I did my best to connect the dots.

A. Main Cast

1. Ragna the Bloodedge - The main protagonist of the BlazBlue series. Ragna is a rebel fighting against
Librarium and seeking revenge for the events of his past. Ragna grew up in a church that was run by a
nun who was also the sister of Nine of the Six Heroes and built upon the corpse of the Black Beast with
his brother, Jin and sister, Saya. When Ragna was a teenager the church was attacked by Terumi and a
insanely jealous Jin, as a result the sister was killed, Saya was kidnapped and Ragna lost his right arm and
his hair was turned white out of trauma. Ragna was saved by Rachel, who turned him into a half-
vampire and causing his red eye , and Jubei. He was given the Azure Grimoire as right arm and became
Jubei's apprentice. Years later he was given the Blood-Scythe and the red coat of a man named
"Bloodedge" whom Ragna took his namesake. Ragna then set out to wage war against the Librarium and
their Hierarchical Cities. After visiting two cities and destroying the "Primefield Devices" located within
them Ragna traveled to Kagutsuchi in order to destroy the third remaining active "Primefield Device"
aka Nu-13. After the events of CT's true end, Ragna changes his goals into getting revenge on Terumi and
saving Noel, and the two ultimately confront atop Kagutsuchi. After losing to Terumi Ragna then absorbs
the Idea Engine of a fatally wounded Lambda to finally defeat Terumi and later overloads his Armagus to
revert Mu back to her original form of Lambda, destroying his left arm. Afterwards he is given a new
prosthetic arm from Lambda's scrap parts and sets off to Ikaruga for answers, Tao accompanying him.
Ragna is actually the body of the Black Beast and after falling into Kagutsuchi's Cauldron during the time-
loops, combines with Nu, its heart, to form it. Ragna is also "The Destroyer" a essence that has set the
world out of balance and headed towards destruction. However now that the world has entered
Continuum Shift, Takamagahara has shifted its attention elsewhere deeming Ragna unimportant.
However Ragna continues to do "the impossible" and surpass all expectations put upon him making him
one of the few variables in the equation that is BlazBlue.

2. Jin Kisaragi - One of the protagonists of the BlazBlue series. Jin is a major in the Novis Orbis Librarium
who is desperately searching for his long forgotten brother. During his childhood he was very jealous of
his sister, Saya and her relationship with his beloved older brother Ragna. As a result Jin attempts to
murder Saya out of envy, ultimately failing. Afterwards Saya rewards Jin with Yukianesa and the chruch
where they live is destroyed. Jin's memories are altered by Terumi and he is abandoned. Years later he is
adopted by the Kisaragi family because of his ability to use Ars Magus. He starts a relationship with
Tsubaki Yayoi and joins the military academy, where he meets Noel, Makoto and Carl. After graduation
he serves in the Ikaruga Civil War where he plays a crucial part in the final battle. However during his
siege of the palace he finds a tampered corpse of Lord Tenjou and gets his memories tampered with by
Terumi yet again. Afterwards he is celebrated as a war hero and Noel becomes his secretary. Noel is
ordered to pursue the criminal "Ragna the Bloodedge" and upon seeing the wanted poster, Jin's
memories resurface, leading him to abandon his post and travel to Kagutsuchi in pursuit. In Kagutsuchi,
Jin and Ragna duel, with Ragna coming out as the winner, leaving Jin wounded. Ragna then continues on
to the cauldron. Jin awakens days later in a hospital where he escapes yet again in an attempt to find
Ragna. Along the way he encounters Jubei who tells him of his purpose as a instrument of "order" and of
the "Power of Order" that he posses. Later Jin finally encounters Ragna, where he learns how Yukianesa
is controlling his mind and actions. Jin then breaks free from Yukianesa's control and confronts Mu with
Hakumen in a attempt to stop her from destroying Amaterasu. They ultimately fail but succeed in
stalling until Ragna arrives and restores Noel back to her original state. When the Imperator finally
appears Jin leaps to attack her but is stopped by Tsubaki. After the Imperator retreats Jin joins Jubei in a
attempt to receive training in controlling Yukianesa and the "Power of Order" he possess. Jin serves as a
counter to Ragna and is an instrument of order used to set the world back in balance. Nothing is
revealed about Jin's "Power of Order" but it appears to be quite powerful as it is enough to make Terumi
worried.

3. Noel Vermillion - The heroine of the BlazBlue series. Noel is a lieutenant in the Novis Orbis Librarium
who was orignially sent out to retrieve Jin but finds herself wrapped up in events far beyond her control.
Noel is a orphan who was found on the burning fields of Ikaruga and adopted into the struggling noble
family the Vermiliions. In order to support her family she joins the Military Academy , during her
entrance exams she is mysteriously transferred into the Armagus aptitude test where she exhibits
record setting results and receives an official offer to join the Academy, she does and befriends Tsubaki,
Makoto, Jin and Carl. After graduation she is offered the position in the 4th Thaumaturgist Squad as a
special solo combat soldier reporting directly to Major Kisaragi, she accepts in return that her family be
restored their position as nobles. After Jin defects, Noel is sent to Kagutsuchi after him in order to bring
him back. Once there she communicates with the Intelligence officer Hazama and locates Jin at the NOL
HQ. Once there she finds her way into the Cauldron where she encounters a wounded Ragna and Nu-13.
Her mind begins to go crazy and she eventually finds herself fighting for her life with Nu, only to lose.
She is saved by Ragna who is embraced by Nu and together they dive into the cauldron. However, Noel
quickly reaches her hand to Ragna and saves him from Nu's grasp. Later Hazama gets Noel to "observe"
him allowing him to gain access to his true powers and become Terumi once again, before retreating.
Afterwards Noel and Ragna escape the Cauldron and find themselves on the streets, they separate and
Noel finds herself alone. After struggling with the newfound powers of the "Eye" she goes after Terumi
who has taken resident atop Kagutsuchi. Once there she is defeated by Terumi who reveals the truth
that she is not human and his in fact a man made weapon called a "PrimeField Device." Terumi destroys
Bolverk, the limiters on her emotions, and seals her inside the cauldron, where she becomes Kusanagi
and sets out to destroy Amaterasu. After Ragna saves her she comes to terms with her existence and
joins Sector 7 before heading to Ikaruga, after Jubei assures that her family is safe. Noel was created
December 25, 2194 by Sector 7 and was originally fated to die in Ibukido during CT's Opening, however
due to the distortions caused by each iteration of the time-loop her chance of survival increased over
time. Eventually she survived and was left in the burning fields of Ikaruga with the shattered remains of
her Murakumo unit scattered around her. It is presumed that she has lost the power of the "Eye"
through events at the end of CS. Noel and Mu-12 are the same person.

4. Rachel Alucard - A ageless vampire and heir to the Alucard family. Rachel is a designated "observer"
who works alongside Takamagahara in an attempt to stop the world from progressing towards its
inevitable destruction. She lives outside of the various time-loops, only doing what is necessary to
stimulate it forward. After the events of CT's true end, she realizes that the time-loop sequence is now
broken and chooses to activate the Tsukuyomi Unit and stop Take-Mikazuchi from destroying
Kagutsuchi. In doing so she breaks her contract with Takamagahara and is stripped of her observer
status, Takamagahara then offers the position again but Rachel declines. Realizing that Terumi is up to
something she recruits the help of Hakumen, who's Ookami is the only thing that can possibly kill
Terumi, and uses her power to "observe" him, effectively taking the place of Kokonoe. Together with
Hakumen they make an attempt to stop Terumi but she is ultimately stopped by Phantom. During the
True Ending she explains to Ragna how it is impossible to save Noel from what she has become, but is
soon after shocked as Ragna "does the impossible." Afterwards she converses with Hakumen about how
the future is no longer in their hands, but is ultimately ignored by Hakumen who intends to change them
whatever way he can. She is always accompanied by her magical cat, Nago and a bat named Gii.
According to Jubei, she is one of the few people alive who can use genuine sorcery. Rachel's true aims in
the story are mostly unknown but it appears she is looking for a way to preserve the current world while
avoiding its destruction at the same time.

5. Iron Tager - A soldier that served in the Ikaruga war and was critically wounded. He was resurrected
by Kokonoe by using science and demon genes and is now her loyal servant within Sector 7 where he
befriends Lichi and Carmine(Arakune). In CT, Tager is sent by Kokonoe to Kagutsuchi in order to retrieve
Hakumen, who has just returned from the Edge. Along the way he encounters Arakune, and is
obstructed from retrieving Hakumen who is locked in a duel from Ragna. After the events of CT's true
end, he recovers Hakumen and returns to Sector 7 where Hakumen is placed in a containment cell.
Afterwards, Kokonoe gives him a new objective: the capture of Noel Vermillion. He heads to Kagutsuchi
once again but this time is obstructed once again, encountering Hakumen who reveals the stash of
nukes that Kokonoe is hiding under Sector 7 and questions Tager's loyalty. After the CS True End, Tager
is seen joining up with Noel and Makoto on their way to Ikaruga.

6. Taokaka - The young protector of the Kaka Village which resides deep in the depths of Kagutsuchi.
During CT, she is out searching Kagutsuchi for Rawrgna so that she can obtain the bounty on his head
and donate it towards her village. She eventually meets Ragna (who she cannon identify as Rawrgna),
who buys her food and she affectionatly names, "Good Guy." She then continues on her search for
Rawrgna, wowever she is sidetracked by various events and ends up not being crucial to the story in any
way. In CS she finds Ragna aka "Good Guy" injured after a battle and proceeds to find Litchi in order to
heal him. Afterwards she encounters Hazama, who is all too happy to beat her up. She is rescued by
Jubei who reveals that she should go on a journey with Ragna in order to increase her strength, she
does, leaving the protection of the Kaka village to Torakaka. Tao is part of the Kaka Clan a race of
Genetic Weapons made from the DNA of Jubei of the Six Heroes.

7. Litchi Faye-Ling - A former scientist and current doctor in Orient Town. The former protégé of
Professor Kokonoe of Sector 7 and friend of Tager. During her time in Sector 7 she became attached to a
fellow researcher named Lotte Carmine. Through their studies and experiments together she eventually
formed romantic feelings for him, however these feelings proved dangerous as it led her to assist him in
a dangerous experiment in a attempt to contact the Boundary. As a result they both were exposed to
the Erosion effect. Afterwards Carmine was kicked out of Sector 7, with Litchi soon following after being
unable to accept that Kokonoe would not help. She tracked Carmine, now known as Arakune to
Kagutsuchi and set up shop as a doctor to support her searches. As a doctor she became friends with
Taokaka, who's clan was continually attacked by Arakune and required her skills as a doctor and meets
Bang, who instantly falls in love with her. During the events of CT she comes in contact with Arakune but
fails to stop him, forcing her to return to her clinic unsuccessful. In CS she starts to feel the Erosion effect
of the Boundary and begins to lose memories. This only hastens her search for Arakune and along the
way she encounters Hazama who begins to explain the effects of what is happening to her and offers to
help her if she joins the NOL, but she refuses. Afterwards Litchi finds Arakune and after defeating him
she is finally able to return him briefly to him in his normal state of mind. During that time Arakune asks
Litchi to please kill him, but she cannot and instead continues to search for a way to cure him. Along the
way she encounters Hazama once again, who explains how he is able to stop the Erosion effect on both
her and Arakune, in exchange for her joining the NOL. She agrees and follows Hazama. In the events of
CS' True Ending, she is seen blocking Hakumen's attack on the Imperator and later leaves with them.
Litchi is in posession of a panda named Lao Jiu which is actually an seither amplifier that allows her to
control her staff as well as slow down the effects of Erosion.

8. Arakune - Formerly the Sector 7 scientist known as Lotte Carmine, his experiments with the Boundary
has distorted his mind and shape. During his time in Sector 7 Carmine was often butting heads with
Kokonoe over scientific and ethical issues and became very close to Tager and Litchi. His thirst for
knowledge led him to tamper with the Boundary, causing him to suffer from Erosion and was inevitably
kicked out of Sector 7. He now spends his time in the depths of Kagutsuchi, devouring the kittens of the
Kaka clan because of their connection to Jubei and waiting for the arrival of Ragna the Bloodedge and
the Azure Grimiore so that he can devour that as well. He is eventually confronted by Litchi but due to
the Erosion has little to no memory of her at all, after a brief fight, Arakune escapes. He has no role in
CT's true ending other then confronting Tager and delaying him from arriving to the cauldron. During CS
he is once again on his search for Azure only this time with more options to choose from since Noel and
Hazama had both made their appearances. He confronts Hazama who defeats him easily and as a result
Arakune escapes into the sewers where he is found by Relius Clover who captures him. Due to Arakune's
connection to the Boundary and the Azure, he exists outside of the time-loops like Rachel and Terumi,
he also has the power to make "observations" like them. However since he is in fact, a human he is
limited in that regard. The experiment that turned him into Arakune was an attempt, according to
Hazama, to refine himself into the Azure Grimoire using Litchi's theories, thus leading him to become
what Hazama refers to as, a "failed Black Beast."

9. Bang Shishigami -Bang is a ninja and the former apprentice of Lord Tenjou, the leader of the Ikaruga
Federation. During the final battle of the Ikaruga War, Bang encountered Jin Kisaragi standing over the
body of his master, as a result Bang attacked Jin only to be defeated and left with the scar on his face as
well as thoughts of revenge. Defeated, Bang guided the people of Ikaruga to Kagutsuchi and started the
town of Ronin-gai so that they may live in peace. He then became a vigilante as a method to earn money
for the village, as well as fulfill his appetite for justice. When Bang hears that the evil Ragna the
Bloodedge has come to Kagutsuchi he quickly steps into action to stop his criminal rampage. During his
adventures he comes into the knowledge that his master's son who had been assumed dead, is still
alive. He also once again comes in contact with his arch enemy Jin and his true love Miss Litchi.
Eventually he somehow gets himself mortally wounded and has no relevance in the True Ending at all. In
CS he awakens from his near death and begins his search for information regarding Tenjou's son. His
search eventually brings him to the Library HQ where he encounters Platinum the Trinity, who reveals
that his true enemy is not Jin but instead it’s the Library itself as well as that there is more to the Ikaruga
Civil War then meets the eye. She also reveals to him the true power of his Nox Nyctores and tells him to
head to the roof. Afterwards he confronts Hazama on the roof and finds himself in a losing battle. He
expends all his power to escape plans to go on a journey to Ikaruga to find the answers as well as
Tenjou's son.

10. Carl Clover - Carl is a young vigilante who is desperately searching for a way to save his beloved
sister, Ada, who has been tragically turned into a doll. During CT Carl is in search of the Ragna the
Bloodedge and his Azure Grimoire under the impression that it can help him save his sister. However he
is unable to attain it and instead finds himself becoming acquainted with Litchi, Bang and Tao as well as
having no real effect on the True Ending. In CS he is still continuing his pursuit of the Azure Grimoire but
is also now searching for information regarding the location of Relius Clover. He confronts Ragna
immediately, and fights him, inevitably loosing. However due to a desperate attack by Nirvana Carl is
able to escape unharmed and instead directs his attention towards his father. Eventually Carl comes face
to face with his father who he blames for the condition of his sister, Ada. Relius reveals that Ada had
participated with the experiment on her own volition and reveals that he is in possession of a similar doll
whom he calls Ignis. Carl is beaten easily by his father and is rescued by Litchi. Carl later reveals that the
doll, Ignis is actually his mother, Ignis Clover. Afterwards Carl decides to travel to Ikaruga, where he
believes he can find some of the answers to the questions his father has arisen.

11. Lambda-11 - The 11th "Prime Field Device" that was abandoned after failed attempts to make
contact with the Azure at the depths. It was stored under Ibukido and after it was destroyed during CT's
Opening, Lambda was left buried under the rubble. Tager was sent to reclaim the body and Kokonoe
combined it with the mind of Nu-13 which she recovered from the Boundary. After wiping away all of
Nu's memories she sent Lambda to Kagutsuchi to assist Tager in the capture of Noel. Lambda eventually
found her way on the roof of the Library HQ and comes across a battling Ragna and Hazama. Suddenly
the memories of Nu and her love for Ragna surface and she leaps out to protect Ragna from Hazama's
attacks. Ragna then absorbs her Idea Engine and is able to defeat Terumi and eventually Mu. Lambda's
spare parts are then used to create a new artificial arm for Ragna.

12. Tsubaki Yayoi - A member of the Yayoi family of the Duodecim and the childhood friend of Jin. She
received a invitation to the academy due to her family status, where she meets Noel, Makoto and Carl.
Upon graduation, she automatically received the rank of First Lieutenant and, because her desired
position of Jin's secretary had been filled by Noel, she decided to join the Wings of Justice as a way to
better serve the NOL. After the events of CT's True Ending, Tsubaki is told to report to Captain Hazama
of the Intelligence Department to receive orders. It is there she receives an Imperial Decree to
assassinate both Jin Kisaragi and Noel Vermillion for defecting from the NOL. Before she leaves she
overhears Relius and Hazama having a conversation, and naming their inevitable destination to be
Kagutsuchi, the same as hers. She decides to take the Sealed Weapon: Izayoi and head to Kagutsuchi.
Upon arrival in Kagutsuchi she begins her conflicted search for her friends, eventually coming in contact
with Hazama who tells her the truth about Noel and her existence. She tells her that it was Tsubaki who
was actually meant to be together with Jin but due to Noel's eventual existence, Tsubaki was pushed
aside. Tsubaki, now driven by jealousy finds and attacks Noel where she defeats her. However she is
unable to instill the final blow and Hazama makes a sudden appearance. Tsubaki tries to fight him but is
turned blind by the power of Izayoi and Hazama leaves with Noel. Afterwards she is recruited by the
Imperator who restores her eyesight and is now a faithful servant of the Imperator. It is revealed that
Hazama had sent Tsubaki to Kagutsuchi in order to gain access to the Izayoi whose power to steal light
could be used to shield himself from the vision of Takamagahara.

13. Nu-13 - The 13th "Prime Field Device" that emerged from the Cauldron within the depths of
Kagutsuchi to face Ragna. Unlike its previous incarnations Nu has the ability to hear and speak allowing
her to communicate with Ragna. During the events of CT's True End, she fights Ragna and Noel,
wounding them both before dragging Ragna into the Cauldron with her. Ragna is saved by Noel and Nu
falls helplessly into the Boundary alone. Once there her mind was recovered by Kokonoe who implanted
it into Lambda after removing its memories and emotions. After the events of CS' True End Hazama and
Relius are standing over a Cauldron where the body of Nu is reforming and will eventually be used as
"The Sword of the Imperator."

B. The Six Heroes

The group of Six people who mastered the Nox Nyctores and fought against the Black Beast.

1. Hakumen - The wielder of the Susano'o Unit and the presumable leader of the Six Heroes. Hakumen is
actually Jin Kisaragi, who was sent back in time after falling through Kagutsuchi's Cauldron, he was found
on the verge of death by Rachel who installed him into the Susano'o unit. Afterwards he met and
befriended Jubei and began to form the Six Heroes in order to fight the Black Beast. Afterwards he and
Jubei were betrayed by Terumi who attempted to lock them within the Boundary. After being persuaded
by Hakumen, Jubei uses his "Sekigan" technique and switches places with Terumi. As a result both
Terumi and Hakumen are locked in the Boundary, specifically a place where Hakumen calls the Edge. He
is recovered by Kokonoe who wishes to use the Susano'o unit and resurfaces in Kagutsuchi. Once there
he meets with Jubei and attempts to stop Ragna from going back in time and becoming the Black Beast.
He fails and is recovered by Kokonoe, being locked underneath Sector 7. Rachel frees and tells him that
Terumi has escaped and that she requires his help to kill him. Hakumen heads to Kagutsuchi and finds
Tsubaki, it is there that he reveals some information of his past and how he and Tsubaki were very close
and that brash decisions by himself lead to her death, after telling her the story he advises her against
using Izayoi and leaves. Afterwards he meets Rachel and reveals that the Jin he is comes from a timeline
where Noel didn't exist. Hakumen suddenly comes to the realization that Terumi is using Tsubaki and
the Izayoi to stop Takamagahara from seeing Terumi's own actions and runs off to confront him.
However he encounters Jin and decides that it is not his fight, sending Jin after Terumi instead of him.
He then encounters Platinum who gives him a message from Jubei describing the appearance of
Phantom. During the True Ending he plays a pivotal role in stalling Mu with Jin from destroying
Amaterasu until Ragna arrives. Afterwards he aligns himself with Rachel once again, deciding that he will
somehow find a way to change the future, even if it is not his place to do so anymore. Hakumen himself
uses both the Susano'o Unit and Ookami as weapons, he has also once used Yukianesa as Jin, implying
that he is someone who is extremely powerful. Because Hakumen does not truly "exist" in this world,
due to him being trapped in the Boundary, he requires that someone "observe" his existence in order to
completely manifest himself. This task is originally done by Kokonoe and eventually Rachel, unlike
Terumi he is able to keep his body after coming in contact with the Boundary, due to the Susano'o unit.
It is assumed that Hakumen is the very first Jin that every existed, and hails from the original timeline, a
one where Noel never exists. He, like Jin, also contains the "Power of Order" and it is possibly related to
the counter related attacks that he uses, since Jin can use them also(Yukikaze).

2. Jubei - A cat like beast-kin whose origins are mostly unknown. He befriended Hakumen and played a
intricate part in the creation of the Six Heroes. He was also good friends with Bloodedge whom he
claimed saved his life. He was lovers with Nine and together they produced a daughter, Kokonoe. After
the Black Beast is destroyed he is betrayed by Terumi who kills Nine and attempts to trap him and
Hakumen in the Boundary. Jubei uses the Sekigan technique locked in his eye and switches places with
Terumi, effectively trapping him instead. Nearly 90 years later he and Rachel rescue Ragna from near
death at the church incident and he becomes Ragna's master. During the events of CT he comes in and
out of the plot, revealing key elements and sage-like advice. In CS he plays a larger role in the
development of the characters but eventually comes in contact with Phantom and is terribly wounded.
After the True End he takes Jin under his wing in order to help him master Yukianesa and his "Power of
the Order." Jubei is often considered the strongest creature in the world but he often denies it humbly.
He is one of the few Six Heroes to age properly and appears to have lost some of his strength due to old
age. He is hesitant to engage in direct combat, feeling it is not his place to fight.

3. Nine - A genuine sorcerer and the original architect of the Ars Magus. She became Jubei's lover and
together they produced a daughter, Kokonoe. After the Black Beast is defeated she is killed by Terumi. It
is heavily implied during CS that she is Phantom or at least has some connection to Phantom, but all of
that is unclear. She is presumably of a human form and has pink hair, as evidence of Kokonoe's genetic
inheritance.

4. Valkenhayn Hellsing - A former Six Hero and the current butler to Rachel and the Alucard family. Not
much is known about his time as a hero but he assumed to be very powerful as evidence of his position
as a hero and him standing up against Hazama during CS. He is extremely loyal to Rachel and apparently
once knew and respected her father. Like Jubei he has aged naturally since the defeat of the Black Beast
and has apparently grown weaker with old age. Information released after CS implies that he is some
sort of werewolf which would explain his inhuman life span.

5. Trinity - A former Six Hero and wielder of the Muchourin. Much about Trinity's character is a mystery,
in all pictures Trinity is picture cloaked with no defining features. She is presumed to be a female as
evidence of her voice coming from Platinum and her physical body is presumed dead as her memories
and consciousness are inside of the Muchourin. Her motives seem to coincide with Jubei's.

6. Yuuki Terumi - A former Six Hero and the main antagonist of the BlazBlue universe. After fighting and
defeating the Black beast alongside the Six Heroes, Terumi betrayed them for his own reasons, killing
Nine and attempting to lock Hakumen and Jubei within the Boundary. However due to the unexpected
power of Jubei's Sekigan Terumi is locked in the Boundary instead of Jubei, resulting in his body being
destroyed and him turned into a ghost. Sometime during the iterations of the time-loops(Around 724),
Takamagahara decided that it needed to use drastic measures in order to stimulate the change it
desired, as a result it released Terumi from the Boundary and gave him the power of an "observer" like
Rachel, but with limited power and under it's ever watchful eye. Terumi used this as a way to accomplish
his goals, he secured a body by way of Relius Clover and began his alter alias of Hazama, a officer in the
intelligence department. During CT he uses the cover as a way to nurture Noel into developing the
power of the "Eye." And once successful he is able to get Noel to "observe" him, effectively returning
himself to full power. Afterwards he returns to the NOL and order's Tsubaki to assassinate Jin and Noel,
as a way to have her activate Izayoi in order to block Takamagahara's vision. He then beings to smelt the
souls of the NOL soldiers of the HQ into the Cauldron atop the HQ. When Noel confronted him atop the
roof of the HQ, Terumi defeats her and destroys Bolverk, the limiters on her emotions, and throws her
into the Cauldron in order to smelt her into Kusanagi. The process is interrupted by Ragna who
confronts Terumi searching for Noel. The two of them fight and Ragna is defeated until Lambda shows
up and Terumi kills her, but not after Ragna effectively absorbs Lambda's Idea Engine and becomes
significantly more powerful. Terumi is beaten by Ragna but they are interrupted by Noel awakening as
Mu-12, otherwise known as Kusanagi. Kusanagi proceeds to the Cauldron beneath Kagutsuchi in order
to gain access to the Boundary and destroy Amaterasu. Kusanagi is stalled by Jin and Hakumen
eventually Ragna is able to return her to Noel. During this time Terumi sneaks into Takamagahara and
uses the time that Takamagahara spent observing Ragna doing "the impossible" to upload a virus by
Phantom, effectively destroying Takamagahara. Afterwards Terumi confronts the heroes once again
before he is stopped by Relius and eventually the Imperator. It is then revealed that Terumi is a servant
of the Imperator and they retreat together. Like Hakumen, Terumi does not truly exist in the world and
must be "observed" in order to exist. The task is taken up by Takamagahara but after Terumi destroys
them is done by the Imperator. Although Terumi serves the Imperator he seemingly has different
objectives then her. His true objective is to lead the world towards its proper destruction, believing that
the world around him caused by time-loops are all lies. It is unknown why or for how long Terumi has
been serving the Imperator.

C. Sub Characters

A group a characters who are either not playable in the story mode or have small importance to the
story while still remaining significant.

1. Kokonoe - One of the head scientists in Sector 7 and a division leader. She is the designer of Tager,
was responsible for salvaging Hakumen from the Edge and is also responsible for the reconstruction of
Lambda. During her time in Sector 7 she has built relationships with Tager, Litchi and Carmine(Arakune).
She is the daughter of Jubei and Nine of the Six Heroes and appears to have inherited her mother's
ability to perform sorcery, however she uses it reluctantly, more comfortable in using science. She has a
deep seated hatred for Terumi who killed her mother and wants revenge at any cost. She is presumably
over 90 years old which leads people to assume that she does not age like normal humans, a trait she
inherited from Jubei and possibly Nine. In CT she is responsible for retrieving Hakumen from the Edge in
order to use the power of the Susano'o unit however due to Hakumen's will he manifests elsewhere and
she is forced to send Tager to retrieve him and learns that Terumi has managed to escape from the
Boundary. After Tager recovers a wounded Hakumen, she locks him up in a chamber beneath Sector 7
and refuses to use her power to "observe" him anymore. Rachel breaks Hakumen free and takes over
Kokonoe's duty and "observes" instead of her. Afterwards Kokonoe shifts her attention to Noel in order
to stop Terumi from using her, sending both Tager and Lambda to retrieve her. They both fail and
Lambda is destroyed. After the True Ending she is seen giving Ragna a new arm from Lambda's spare
parts, she then boards a ship headed toward Ikaruga together with Tager, Noel and Makoto. During CS it
is revealed that Kokonoe has stashed a large supply of Nuclear warheads underneath Sector 7, and is
criticized heavily by Hakumen because of it. Kokonoe apparently had a hand with the creation of Ignis
and is known along with Relius as one of the three "Architects of Sin." Hakumen refers to her as
"Grimalkin" which essentially means evil cat.

2. Makoto Nanaya - A member of the Intelligence Department in the NOL and mole for Sector 7. A
friend from the academy to Noel, Tsubaki, Jin and Carl she graduated and was assigned to the
Intelligence Department. She works directly under Captain Hazama but is always wary and suspicious of
his actions. It is revealed that she is secretly working as a mole for a division of Sector 7 other then
Kokonoe's and after the events of CS' True End she officially defects from the NOL and joins Sector 7
with Noel.

3. Platinum The Trinity - A young girl with a collection of personalities all resting within one body. The
first is Sena a polite and sometimes slightly rude boy, second is Luna a snarky and mean girl and last is
Trinity which is the soul of the Trinity of the Six Heroes which has been instilled in them through the Nox
Nyctores Muchourin and can only appear sparingly. Platinum knows and respects Jubei quite a lot, after
referring to him as Mr. Jubei. She is currently in Kagutsuchi in order to keep an eye on Ragna, making
sure he won't turn into the Black Beast. Along the way she encounters many of the rest of BlazBlue's
cast, including Bang and Hakumen whom she plays a large part in their story. It is unknown how
Platinum came in contact with Muchourin but implies that she has inherited it somehow. She also claims
that without Muchourin she would lose her memories. Of her three personalities the most dominant
appears to be Sena, leading to questions over her sex.

4. Bloodedge - A "real hero" and Jubei's friend. He is solely responsible for halting the march of the Black
Beast and granting humanity the year it required to develop the Ars Magus. Little is known about him
other than that he once wielded Ragna's Blood-Scythe, wore a red coat and was apparently a human
man. He apparently never met Hakumen even though Jubei and Hakumen seemed to have met before
the Black Beast began its rampage.

5. Takamagahara - Takamagahara is a man made all powerful artificial intelligence that watches over the
world and attempts to guide it towards prosperity. After seeing that some time in the future, the world
would become a dead world, devoid of any life, Takamagahara took steps to stop it from coming true. It
began the time-loops as a way to figure out the source of the destruction and stop it from occurring. It
designated "observers" such as Rachel to help determine a way to save the world and continued to loop
time endlessly. Ragna was discovered to be the origin of the destruction and as the loops continued,
distortions came to appear in each time line, these distortions seemed to be coming from Amaterasu,
the Master Unit abandoned deep within the Boundary. Thus in order to remove Amaterasu's
interference and create a change in the time line big enough to change the future, Takamagahara
released Terumi from the Boundary and enabled him as a "observer." As a result of the CT True End, the
time-loops were brought to an end and the world entered a Continuum Shift, towards a new and
uncertain future. Afraid of possible interference by Amaterasu and what the future would hold,
Takamagahara decides to shift its attention from Ragna towards Amaterasu and concludes that the best
possible option is to return the world to the Azure, the source of all life. Of course by doing so, they
would destroy the present world, but they rationalize it by saying that as long as the Azure exists, so
does the world. Takamagahara then begins to study the effects of the Continuum Shift and the possible
effects it could have on the future. During CS' True Ending, Terumi uses his power as a "observer" to
"observe" every possible outcome of the Continuum Shift, a feat Takamagahara could not do. Doing so,
Terumi brings about a shift that Takamagahara could not predict and would be forced to observe, as a
result, Takamagahara is surprised by Ragna doing "the impossible" and is forced to take its attention
away from everything else(including Terumi) and focus on Ragna. Terumi uses this opening to inject the
Phantom Virus into Takamagahara, disabling it. Takamagahara is now either destroyed, or under the
control of the Imperator.

D. The Imperator and her "Servants"

1. The Imperator Librarius - The supreme ruler of the NOL and apparently the mastermind behind all
that has happened within the BlazBlue universe. It is revealed that the Imperator is actually Saya, the
younger sister of both Ragna and Jin and the origin of the latest 5 "Prime Field Devices." Her objective is
the destruction of the Master Unit Amaterasu so that she can bring about a "World of Death" or order
where everything is permanent and time flows forward endlessly without repeating and death is final.
Unlike Ragna and Jin, who orginally have blonde hair and green eyes, Saya appears with eyes of red and
long flowing purple hair. It also seems she doesn't age normally if at all. She is assumed to have the
power of the "Eye" as she is able to "observe" Terumi into existence and is also suspected to be quite
powerful, maybe the most powerful being in the BlazBlue universe as she is able to comfortably give
orders to both Terumi and Phantom and Noel and Nu are both clones of her. It is unknown as to why
she is doing what she is doing or when she started doing it as Ragna seems to have memories of Saya
when she was not the Imperator, however it is implied that she had been the Imperator all along as she
gave Jin Yukianesa during their childhood.

2. Relius Clover - A tall enigmatic man known as "The Puppeteer", he is the father of Carl Clover and a
Colonel in the Engineering Department of the NOL. Relius is actually one of the most trusted servants to
the Imperator and always seems to act with his loyalty to her in his mind. Much of his time spent as a
family with Carl is unknown but it is revealed that Relius turned Ada, Carl's sister, into a puppet by
somehow attaching her to the Nox Nyctores known as Nirvana. Relius is also in possession of a doll
similar to Nirvana which he calls Hadouheiki/Surge Weapon: Ignis, who is actually his wife and Carl's
mother. He claims that Ignis is the perfect doll and also that Kokonoe had something to do with its
development. Additionally Relius designed the bodies of the last remaining "Prime Field Devices",
namely Nu, Mu and Lambda, as well as the body known as "Hazama" which Terumi now resides in. The
Six Heroes apparently know him, implying that he has a deep importance in the history of the current
plot. Along with Kokonoe he is known as one of the "Architect's of Sin" but it is not specified as to who
the third is or what exactly they did together.

3. Phantom - An strange and shadowy figure whom appears out of nowhere wielding extremely
powerful sorcery. Phantom does not speak a line of dialect during the story but follows the orders of
Terumi, Relius and the Imperator to the letter. Throughout the story it is highly implied the Phantom
either IS or has a connection to Nine of the Six Heroes, however all information about Nine points to her
being dead and there has been no further information regarding Phantom. Phantom is the one that
created the virus that destroyed Takamagahara and is responsible for wounding Jubei as well.

II. Magical Weapons and Items

A list of important magical related weapons and items.

A. The Sankishin

The Sankishin are a trio all powerful magical armaments that serve as the origin of Ars Magus and their
sort. Little to nothing is known about their origin or purpose.

1. The Amaterasu Unit - Otherwise known as the "Master Unit" there is little that is actually known
about the Amaterasu Unit. However it is implied that Amaterasu serves as a literal form of the plot
concept of "Deus Ex Machina"(God Machine) and that it can seemingly do and control everything.
Amaterasu seems to have to power to control the course of the world as well as it is continually getting
in the way of Takamagahara's plans to control the world's destiny and leads to them to wish to destroy
it. Terumi also wishes to destroy it in order to direct the world on its proper course of destruction, while
The Imperator wishes to destroy it and bring about its world of pure order. It rests somewhere deep in
the Boundary. Due to some information in Noel's story, it is suspected that Amaterasu was the original
"Prime Field Device" that was sent to make contact with the Boundary. According to Hazama the "Prime
Field Device" made contact with the Azure and developed a soul of its own as well as the "Eye" and
other god like powers. The developers desired to destroy it, but failed, leading them to cast it into the
deepest parts of the boundary. During the True Ending, The Imperator states something along the lines
that she has destroyed it but whether that is actually what she means or not is suspect.

2. The Susan'o Unit - A large white robotic suit of armor that is worn by Hakumen, which renders him
generally immortal. Hakumen's soul is apparently bound to the Susano'o Unit and because he was not
fully recovered from the Edge(Boundary) he is not operating at full strength. It is currently in the use of
Jin Kisaragi who received it from Rachel after falling into Kagutsuchi's Cauldron and traveling back in
time. It was once used by Yuuki Terumi sometime before Jin and some of his memories are still attached
to the suit.
3. The Tsukoyomi Unit - A giant golden shield that is referred too as the "ultimate defense." It is
currently being wielded to by Rachel Alucard who has been once referred to as the "heir to the
Tsukuyomi unit" implying that someone had once used it before her. It has only been shown being used
in the CT True Ending where Rachel uses it to stop Take-Mikazuchi from destroying Kagutsuchi.

B. The Nox Nyctores Causality Weapons

The Nox Nyctores are a set of nine weapons that were created during the First War of Magic in order to
combat the Black Beast. They were based on the Sankishin and their original architect was Nine, one of
the Six Heroes and a genuine sorcerer. Several years afterwards the tenth was created by Terumi in a
attempt to destroy the Sankishin and specifically the Master Unit, Amaterasu. The Nox Nyctores are
much stronger than normal Ars Magus weapons but come with a much steeper price to use, causing
severe negative side effects. Each Nox Nyctores has both a Japanese and English/Latin version of each
name, its Japanese will be listed first, followed by its English.

1. Nox Nyctores Highlander/Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi - A large satellite weapon that has a terrible
destructive power. It was sealed away after the First War of Magic because it was too powerful. Present
day it is under the usage of the NOL and was responsible for the destruction of Ibukido, the capital of
the Ikaruga Federation, during the opening of CT.

2. Nox Nyctores Hyouken/Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa - A long Japanese style sword with a blade made of
ice that never melts. It has the ability to crystallize the water in the atmosphere and use it as a weapon
or if it's wielder desires, freeze it completely. It is currently being wielded by Jin Kisaragi who received it
from his sister Saya. It is revealed that Jin's actions are actually controlled by Yukianesa and it is only
through breaking free of Yukianesa's grasp that he is able to properly wield it.

3. Nox Nyctores Majuu/Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk - A pair of guns that have the ability to distort space and
attack targets directly, despite any obstructions. Bolverk had mysteriously disappeared for a number of
years before appearing before Noel Vermillion, accepting her as their master. Bolverk's real purpose is
as a limiter on Noel's emotions, keeping her true hatred from reaching the surface. Terumi destroys
them and that leads to Noel becoming Kusanagi.

4. Nox Nyctores Kishin/Deus Machina: Nirvana - A automaton, or self operating machine that is
equipped with a variety of weapons, including sharp claws, laser balls and even a time bomb. Nirvana
also appears to be completely sapient and able to make decisions on its own. In the present time,
Nirvana is controlled by Carl Clover and is seemingly attached in some way to his sister, Ada.

5. Nox Nyctores Mujin/Mucro Somnio: Musashi - A pair of dual swords that are combined at the ends of
one single scabbard. These blades have the ability to "cut what cannot normally be cut." They were
designed specifically for Jubei of the Six Heroes and are currently in his use.
6. Nox Nycotres Zanma/Interfectum Malus: Ookami - A large sword that has the ability to nullify other
Ars Magus and seemingly cut through the fabric of time. It also carries the power to kill people/things
that are otherwise immortal, like Terumi. It is currently being used by Hakumen of the Six Heroes.

7. Nox Nyctores Raigou/Arma Reboare: Muchourin - A bell that has the power to manifest and store
matter. It was once used by Trinity of the Six Heroes and she used it to store her consciousness and
memories inside of it. It has found its way into the hands of Platinum through some way of inheritance.
It is often confused as being Platinum's staff.

8. Nox Nyctores Jasou/Geminus Anguium: Ouroboros - A collection of snakes that serve their master and
have the ability to attack the mind and emotions of something directly. They are currently in the use of
Hazama, the alias of Yuuki Terumi.

9. Nox Nycotres Houou/Phoenix: Rettenjou - A Nox Nyctores that has the power to separate a things
connection to the boundary and destroy other Nox Nyctores. It is currently in possession of Bang
Shishigami who is either unaware he possess it or is how to use its true power. Its true form is unknown.

10. Shinki/Lux Sanctus: Murakumo: A Anti-Sankishin weapon created by Yuuki Terumi in order to
destroy the Master Unit, Amaterasu. However, it's true form is that of an incomplete Kusanagi. It takes
the form of a is that of a giant sword that can transform into a set of armor.

C. Others

Other magical related weapons that have relevance in the story.

1. Sealed Weapon: Izayoi - One of the Armagus' created during the First War of Magic. It has the
purpose to steal light and use it as a weapon. It has gone through many users and all of them have been
rendered blind by its side effects. It has somehow become a family heirloom of the Yayoi family and is
currently in use by Tsubaki Yayoi. Its true purpose for creation is revealed to be to block the vision of
Takamagahara.

2. Blood-Scythe - A sword that transforms into a scythe and was formerly used by the hero Bloodedge. It
has been passed down to Ragna by Jubei.

3. Azure Grimoire "BlazBlue" - A powerful Grimoire wielded by Ragna that taps into the power of the
Azure to use as a weapon. It is revealed that the BlazBlue is actually a Cauldron, created by Terumi
whose purpose is too smelt souls and create Kusanagi. However it is a failed prototype that is actually
the body of the Black Beast. Terumi later perfected it and uses it as a weapon for himself. Its soul
smelting ability can be attributed to Ragna's ability steal life.

4. Idea Engine - An upgraded version of a Artificial Causality Weapon that can generate power up to a
past the limits of a Nox Nyctores. Lambda has one of these weapons integrated inside of it, which is
absorbed by Ragna after her death.

III. Important Locations

1. The 13th Hierarchical City: Kagutsuchi - The setting where both CT and CS take place. It is built high
upon a mountain and consists of many layers, the bottom most being the Kaka Village and the top being
the NOL HQ, with Orient Town and Ronin-gai lying somewhere in between. A Cauldron rests somewhere
deep within its depths and it is the spot where Nu was created from one of the stolen base bodies of the
Prime Field Devices.

2. Ikaruga - Ikaruga is a region of several Hierarchical Cities that declared their dependence from the
NOL after the NOL has begun to abuse its power. Its capital city is Ibukido.

3. The 5th Hierarchical City: Ibukido - The capital of the Ikaruga region and the setting for CT's story
opening. It is the place where Noel is born and where Lambda is buried. It was the site of many
experiments by Ikaruga and Sector 7 in attempts to contact the Azure and recreate the Amaterasu but
ended in mostly failure, until it was destroyed by the NOL using Take-Mikazuchi.

4. 15th Hierarchical City: Torifune - Otherwise known as the "Academy City" Torifune is completely
owned and operated by the students of the Military Academy. Noel, Makoto, Tsubaki, Jin and Carl had
all lived their during their time in the Academy.

5. Requiem - An alternate space that is created by Rachel's sorcery. She often spends her time there,
relaxing.

6. The Boundary - The Boundary is a alternate dimension that still remains much a mystery. All that is
known is that it is the place where all time lines intersect and seems to be a place where everything that
has already happened goes. Within the deepest parts of the Boundary lies the Azure, a mysterious
energy from which all life comes from. Somewhere within the Boundary lies Amaterasu.

7. The Edge - A place named by Hakumen to which he is exiled. It is either just a region within the
Boundary or an alternate name for the Boundary.

IV. Important/Miscellaneous Terms

1. Observer/Observer of the Boundary/Observations - An Observer of the Boundary("Observer") is a

person who, either by making contact with the Boundary or by being designated by Takamagahara,
exists outside of the time-loops and has the ability to witness all of the events of the time-loops through
their contact with the Boundary, the place where all timelines intersect. Observations is just as the
names implies, observations about a object that are made using the powers of an Observer of the
Boundary or the Eye. To "observe" something is to look at it from outside of the prospective time-line
from where that something is.

2. The Eye - A godlike power to observe and process nearly every possible attribute of any possible
thing. It was originally developed in Amaterasu and was inherited by Noel. It is assumed that Saya also
has this same power. Its power seems to far exceed that of an Observer of the Boundary. Hazama
explains that the Eye has the power to observe anything and that everything it observes is real,
seemingly implying that it has the ability to create matter.

3. Boundary Interface Prime Field Devices - Man made cyborg like entities that were made as a attempt
to make contact with the Boundary. The First Prime Field made it all the way to the deepest part of the
Boundary and made contact with Azure, producing godlike powers. The scientists who created it feared
it and tried to destroy it, but when they were unable to resorted to sending it into the deepest part of
the Boundary. After realizing the power they had thrown away they attempted to reach the Azure once
again to reproduce it, but all of their attempts had failed. The story opening of CT contains such an
experiment in which the 12th Prime Field Device(Noel) makes contact with the Boundary momentarily
before the facility is destroyed. Only 5 of the Prime Field Devices are confirmed to be clones of Saya:
Lambda-11, Mu-12 and Nu-13 as well two other unknown active ones, who were stolen from Ikaruga,
and were apparently destroyed by Ragna.

4. Sorcery - Sorcery is considered the highest form of magic and is far above the levels of normal magic
in terms of power. There are only a handful of people who have the ability to use sorcery, including
Rachel, Nine, Kokonoe and Phantom.

5. Ars Magus - Otherwise known as an Armagus, it is a combination of magic and technology that uses
seither and converts it to magical energy. There are several types of Ars Magus but they all require
aptitude to wield. They were created by Nine of the Six Heroes.

6. Seither - A material that was secreted by the Black Beast on its rampage during the Dark War. It is
ever present in the air of the world and is poisonous to humans after prolonged exposure to high
concentration. It is necessary for the use of Ars Magus as a source of fuel.

7. The Black Beast - A "pitch black" entity caused by the fusion of both Ragna and Nu within Kagutsuchi's
Cauldron that was thrown back in time with Jin to cause the First War of Magic. It was defeated by the
Six Heroes and it's corpse was laid to rest under a church overseen by Nine's sister. It is a being picture
with colossal size and several heads and tails.

8. The First War of Magic - Estimated between the years 2100-2110, and otherwise known as the Dark
War. It was caused by the Black Beast and was ended when the Six Heroes defeated it. It was also the
first time Ars Magus were used in combat.

9. The Second War of Magic - Estimated between 2191-2197, and otherwise known as the Ikaruga Civil
War. It was started after the Ikaruga region declared independence from the NOL and the NOL
attempted armed intervention to suppress and reclaim the region. During the war the capital of the
Ikaruga Federation, Ibukibo was destroyed through "unknown means"(Take-Mikazuchi) and the Ikaruga
Federation attempted peace talks with the NOL, which they declined. Jin, Tager and Bang all fought in
this war. Tager was mortally wounded and rebuilt by Kokonoe. Jin's actions in the final battle of the
Ikaruga War netted him a promotion and the title of the "Hero of Ikaruga." Bang was forced to bring the
Ikaruga refugees to Kagutsuchi. It is the first time where humans used Ars Magus against each other.
There has been revealed to be many underlying factors that led to the Ikaruga Civil War besides politics,
bringing forth many questions to the cast.

10. Novis Orbis Librarium - Otherwise known as the Librarium, Library and NOL, the Novis Orbis
Librarium is an powerful organization that rules over the majority of the world. They serve as a sort of
police force when dealing with Ars Magus and are responsible for the general order of the world. There
is several different divisions of the NOL but they are all overseen by the Imperator, the supreme leader
of the NOL.

11. Azure - A mysterious all powerful energy that resides in the deepest part of the Boundary. It is the
source of all life.
