Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a copy of the student led conference form that students fill out and use to
guide their fall conference. In fourth grade, we choose to use student led conferences
so that students feel a sense of ownership in their learning and of their conference. This
form is a way for me to guide my students in setting goals for themselves, and
assessing the learning that they have done so far in the school year.

Reflection on the artifact:

I love using student led conferences in my classroom. I think students often feel like
conferences is a time for teachers to tell their parents about all the bad things they are
doing in school, rather than focusing on the positive things. By having student led
conferences, I am able to help each of my students be a part of their own learning and
get to share all of the awesome work that they are doing with their parents. I find this to
be a very positive time and very rewarding for my students.
