Weld Path Drawing

1. Purpose and description


Describe the purpose of the Use this tool to indicate the path and type of welds in Tekla
drawings using a symbolic line.

2. System requirements
Tekla Structures version: 18.0
.NET Framework version: 4.0
Environments: Default
Languages: English

3. Installation
1. Download the WeldPathDrawing installation package from the Tekla Extranet.
2. Run the installation package

4. Usage
To use the application:
1. Open a Tekla assembly drawing.

2. If the Weld Path Drawing toolbar is not visible, follow the steps:
a) Click Tools > Customize.
b) Select the Weld Path Drawing toolbar and check the Visible check box.
3. Click on the Weld Path Drawing button.

4. The Weld Path Drawing dialog window will open and make desired.

5. Click the Create button. (The application window is set to wait, and the dialog
shows a progress bar indicating the preview creation progress.)

The Close button will switch to Cancel for canceling the creation of the weld path
symbols.

6. - For Part option from Create weld part path for list, you must follow these steps.
Pick the first part

Pick the second part.

Weld path is created between the selected parts.

- For View option form Create weld part path for list, you must follow these steps:
Pick the view

Welds path are created for the selected drawing view

- For Drawing option Create weld part path for list, the application will create weld
paths for the entire drawing

7. Click on the Delete button for deleting the weld path symbols. (The application
window is set to wait, and the dialog shows a progress bar indicating the preview
creation progress.)

5. Application properties

5.1. Create weld path

Field Description Default

Define for which of the following options to create weld path.


The options are:
Create Part this option works only in the drawing
weld Part
path for View this option works only in the drawing
Drawing this option works only in the drawing
Drawing List this option also works in the model

5.2. Weld path line options

Field Description Default

Define the spacing options (to visualize the changes made the
first and second block element will change position).
The options are:
Spacing a) Default Centered

b) Left - Elements will be aligned to the left;
c) Right - Elements will be aligned to the right;
d) Centered - Elements will be centered;

5.3. Weld symbol


5.3.1 Weld path for

5.3.2 Shop/site

Field Description

Visible side Define how the weld symbols that are on the visible side will be represented.

5.4. Buttons

Field Description

Show/Hide Use to show/hide Weld symbol options.


Create Use to create the weld path symbols.
Delete Use to delete the created weld path symbols.
Close - Use to close the application.
Close->Cancel
Cancel - Use to cancel the creation of the weld path symbols.

6. Additional information
If you try to create weld paths in the model using the Part, View or Drawing options
in the Create weld path for filed the following message will appear: Please open a
Drawing.

If you try to create weld paths in the model using the Drawing List option in the
Create weld path for filed and the TS Drawing list is not opened, the following
message will appear: Drawing(s) not selected from drawing list.
