2. Set properties in the interface. User can load standard or GridLayout1 attribute files to
see examples.

Many of these fields are exactly the same as the LayoutPoint plugin. Additional
descriptions are provided in the Tekla User Assistance for layout points.
a. Description Description of Point.
b. Size Size of layout object in the model
c. Is Reference Point : A reference point is a mapping point to another
coordinate system such as a geo:spatial coordinate system or a municipal
monument.
d. Color Color of point in model (14 pull down options)
e. Shape 4 layout point shapes

f. Grid Separator Value that separates the two grid labels. A dash : is set by
default. Users can leave it blank. Note if users use a /, it will not be exported
from the Layout Manager into the export files. There are a limited number of
special characters that can be used with point names. They are:
_~%!@#.=+:
g. Group Name Used to group points in the Layout Manager for export. Group
names can be created on the fly within this tool. GRID is the default.
h. Is Stakeout Point Labeled as a stakeout point when exported to robotic total
stations.
i. Is Field Point Grid points will be field points only if flagged as such in the field
and imported into Tekla Structures sa a point file.
j. Point Configuration This dialog provides three options for clustering points
around a grid point location.
i. Single point defines single point at grid point and gets labeled as the
grid point (ie, A/1, B.1/1.3, etc). A point label suffix can be added into
the interface if desired.

ii. 4 point corner adds points at 4 corners around the grid point axis. A
point label suffix can be added into the interface if desired. The Point
Offset X and Y values are used to define the offsets.

iii. 4 point side adds points at 4 sides around the grid point axis. A point
label suffix can be added into the interface if desired.

k. Point Offset X offset from centerline in the X direction

l. Point Offset Y offset from centerline in the Y direction
m. Point Offset Z offset from the picked z elevation.
3. Select grid array system. Note that single grid lines are not recognized, including the
grids created from the polar grid array plugin.
4. Select elevation. This allows users to apply points at multiple floors if needed.
5. Points will be added to the grid intersections and labeled per the grid labels and
suffixes set in the dialog box. The points can be viewed in the Layout Manager or in
the model by adding the PointLabel text field into the View Properties>Display.

6. Limitations and Additional information

1. Points apply only to grid systems but not to single grid lines added to a grid system.
2. If points are renumbered in the Layout Manager, they will overwrite the numbers
applied with this application.
3. User can apply more than one scenario to a given grid system. For example if grid
points are desired at the intersection and at quadrants, the tool can be applied twice
with the different layout settings.
4. Grid Separator values set as a / will not be exported from the Layout Manager to the
.txt or .cnx export files. There are a limited number of special characters that can be
used with point names. They are: _ ~ % ! @ # . = + :
