Treasurers Report
Bonnie Riley gave the Treasurers Report. Totals were $6,412.85 in checking and
$8,182.30 in savings.
Presidents Report
Brandy shared information about Penguin Patch, a holiday store for children to shop
for presents for family members. If approved by Mr. Proffitt, the store will run from
December 11-15. Children can earn points, and each child will have an envelope for
money. The program offers dollar-for-dollar matching. There will also be a free gift so that
every child can participate. Prices and merchandise is determined by Penguin Patch. All
decisions for this event will need to be submitted to the company by October 5 th.
T-Shirt Orders
Will need to rework Jayhawk image for shirt transfers. Brandy will email the official
image to Angela Holt this week so that she can finalize the design. A final count of total
shirts ordered will be done this week also, with sizes and colors given to Courtney
Lanham. Courtney will then have shirts printed, and hopes to have the shirts ready by
parent-teacher conferences in October.
Labels
The label contest will run from September 13th 29th. Winning class will receive a
party provided by PTO. Labels to collect are: Tyson Project A+; Auburn Pharmacy caps;
Best Choice; and Boxtops for Education.
Back-to-School Supplies
The total cost was approximately $780, with PTO making $125. It was suggested that
for next year to use a company that will charge per kit that comes already packaged.
All that needs to be done is to submit the class supply lists and how many of each. It was
also mentioned to possibly have sign-ups in May for the next year.
Events & Activities for 2017-2018
It was unanimously decided to NOT do Arts & Crafts this year. Instead, PTO will focus
their efforts on organizing a Halloween event and Dinner for Santa.
Halloween Carnival/Party
It will be held on Friday, October 27th, at the Fairgrounds from 6-8 p.m. PTO will
provide concessions, a bounce house, various activities (i.e. cakewalk, face painting,
money in the hay) and a Trunk-or-Treat. PTO will ask local
business if they would like to help in any way with the event. In Next Meeting:
addition, Alica will contact the Sheriff Department and Brandy 10/10/17
will contact the Fire Department to see if they would like to @ 6:30 p.m.
participate in any capacity. Brandy is checking to reserve use of F&M Building
the fairgrounds for that day.
Dinner with Santa
Dinner with Santa will be Saturday, December 2nd, from 4-8 p.m. It will be $5 per
person, with 3 & under free. There will possibly be a silent auction held at this time as
well. Further planning will be done closer to time of event.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
