1. Rationale: Daily participation in different types of physical activity influences our physical
literacy and personal health and fitness goals.
2. Curriculum Connections: How does this connect to the Provincial Curriculum :Learning
Standards - Competencies and Content? Develop, refine, and apply fundamental movement
skills in a variety of physical activities and environments. Develop and demonstrate
safety, fair play, and leadership in physical activities. Reflect the knowledge for the
purpose of demonstrating understanding, thought, care and organization.

Introduction:
As students are changing, teacher will put out equipment on floor
as diagramed to have students peruse as they enter the gym &
peak interest/questions. Teacher will have a few students knock
down pins to demo success.
Teaching/Learning Sequence:
Object of the game: to knock down the pins within the square for
points.
Rules:
there may be 1 goalie within each of the squares (only)
no one else may enter the square goalie crease
1 point for each pin knocked down even if your own goalie knocks
it down (can add this last point to the progression instead as
needed)
if you have the ball, you cannot run with it - throw only
game starts with a RPScissors for first throw in from your corner
Progression:
reset after each pin OR ongoing game to increase difficulty
discuss keys as the game progresses
KEYS:
spacing selves out on floor for teammates to throw to
pivots
defensive positions (standing together?)
using whole team
spacing of pins in the crease (too close together? too close to
edges?)
throwing across the crease to other players
can roll it on the floor if you wish
The game is active, and students will choose how active they are within the game.
