BEDFORD Autopsy results show a mother apparently killed her two

young daughters before turning the gun on herself inside the familys
high-end home, police said Monday.

Nina Obukhov, 34, killed her daughters Katherine Obukhov, 8, and

Elizabeth Obukhov, 6 with a gunshot to the head, according to the
states medical examiner.

Police said their father called 911 when he discovered their bodies
Saturday morning. Alexey Obukhov also made a distraught phone call to
an attorney, who recommended he seek help at a local hospital. Police
said he was not a person of interest in the deaths.

The tragedy you are referring to is my tragedy in which my sisters were

murdered by their mother, Yulia Obukhov of Goffstown, wrote in an email
to the New Hampshire Union Leader on Monday. ... Tremendous grief
are not words enough to describe what we are going through.

She described her father, Alexey, as the victim in this case.

The girls, who went by Katy and Lizzy, were remembered as inquisitive
and smart by friends of the family and teachers.

They were beautiful little girls, said Ann Davison. Katy just had a
twinkle in her eye. She just always had a giggle, and (was) just so sweet.
And Lizzy was very shy. Loved the garden...If she could be any place
here, she wanted to be out in the garden.

Davison, director of the Bedford Youth Performing Company, knew both

girls. Lizzy was enrolled in kindergarten there and Katy finished the
program before going to Riddle Brook Elementary School, where she was
in third grade.

Grief counselors were available for students at both schools Monday.

Its just unimaginable

Julia Stryzhenko, a teacher at the School of Russian Language, Literature and Arts in Nashua, where Lizzy and Katy Obukhov
took classes on weekends, said the school community was hit hard by the news.

Its shocking and very sad, she said. Stryzhenko described the sisters as very bright and was saddened their young lives
had been cut short.

She said the girls were always dropped off and picked up by their mother, and that she knew nothing else of the Obukhovs
family life.

We always interact with our children, and we try to see their future, how they will be ... and now its just unimaginable, she
said.

Davison said the BYPC preschool is a tight-knit community. The girls had many friends at the school, she said.

The parents are grieving, particularly the parents who were closest to Nina and the girls, Davison said. Its been so helpful
and so wonderful to have the grief counselors here. We had parents who spent a good bit of time in the morning with the grief
counselors. What theyre concerned about is, How do I tell my child that their friend is dead?

I think the waiting was just really hard, because people then hypothesize for themselves as to what actually happened and
whether theres any danger to the public, Davison said.

She said the school would remember and honor the lives of Lizzy and Katy Obukhov.

We will miss them every day, she said.

Bedford Superintendent Chip McGee said he was assured by authorities that local schools were safe.

Every time I have talked with the Attorney Generals Office and the Bedford Police Department, one of my questions has
been, Can you ensure me that there is not a safety issue here? McGee said. At every turn, they have told me that they can
assure me of that.

Bedford police officer Eli Krause was outside Riddle Brook on Monday afternoon to instill a sense of safety in the school
community, and to prevent reporters from talking to parents, students or school staff, according to McGee.

2003 divorce petition

Police are not commenting on where Alexey Obukhov, 54, has been since the deaths of his wife and daughters, but did stress
that he is not a person of interest in the case.

Court documents reveal that Alexey Obukhov, a former car salesman and current owner of a Merrimack gun shop, has another
daughter from a previous marriage.

According to court records, he was married to Ulia Julia Obukhov; however they divorced in 2003.

As part of the divorce decree, he was ordered to pay Ulias monthly mortgage, as well as $800 a month in child support for
their daughter, Tatiana.

Two years after their divorce, Ulia Obukhov filed a petition to change a court order at the Salem Family Division Court seeking
sole parental responsibility of their child after Alexey Obukhov allegedly failed to pay medical bills, about 10 months of
mortgage payments and several child custody payments.

The petition was ultimately dismissed in 2006 for insufficient evidence, according to court records.

Other court documents indicate that Alexey Obukhov is the president of Star Vector Corp., a Goffstown company that imports
firearms and is currently not in good standing with the New Hampshire Secretary of States Office.

He is the co-owner of Collectable Arms and Ammo in Merrimack; the store is also known as 619DW Guns and Ammo,

On Monday, flowers were placed against the mailbox of the familys home at 17 McAfee Farm Road, a cul-de-sac off Joppa Hill
Road adjacent to the Amherst border in the far southwest corner of Bedford.
