Finn also made a video of the drilling and threading activities which I invite Finn to share as a reply-all to this e-mall Short version; + EVC/vending machine prototyping © Alstom succeeded in installing the EVC in the area left of the new vending machine (the door had to be dismounted to do 50) and all constraints were met. © To cope for the variances Alstom will create a seperate set of documentation for the series 1 and series 2 IC3s, © Alstom indicated the water in the floor of the MF5008 is a problem for the EVC, but Alstom hasn't specified yet what the exact implications are of the water, * Hole in floor Mock-up ©The hole in the floor concept was demonstrated to BDK and DSB ‘There were however 5 points of concern with the design and installation method DSB remains deeply troubled with the Alstom design and remains with their standpoint that Alstom's design cannot be accepted. + EBA cable temperature test © The sensors are installed and ready for tomorrow's test drive Long version; ‘+ EVC/vending machine prototyping ‘© Alstom succeeded in installing the EVC in the area left of the new vending machine (the door had to be dismounted to do so). © There's at least 15mm between the EVC bracket and the toilet pipe, which leaves Smm in worst case situations (taking +/-10mm tollerance into acount) © There's 805mm between EVC bracket and right wall for an area 810mm into the vending © NETION »00%; Brian will check that the depth (810mm) in which the 800mm width can be guarranteed is indeed enough for DSB. © If you go deeper into the vending machine area the EVC brackets becomes a bit wider and then there's 798mm left between EVC bracket and right wall There is enough space between the EVC and the door. DSB will put the garbage trolley somewhere else. Alstom needs DSB to make air vents in the bottom and top of the door to ensure airflow Inside the EVC enclosure © DSB will make an air vent in the bottom, but can't make one in the top due to air conditioning constraints. DSB will create an opening to the air vent system in the ceiling above the EVC which will allow for an airflow inside the EVC cabinet ncent to check if the air flow apporach proposed by DSB is acceptable for the EVC. ‘The Crail on the series 1 1C3 has a different size as on the series 2 The crail on the series 1 IC3 has a beam that blocks the c-ril fixation of the middle EVC bracket fixation which is not there on the series 2 1C3. Alstom has to drill the beam to fix the EVC bracket. There are 2 extra pipes running along the wall and ceiling in the EVC enclosure on the IC3 series 1 which are not there on the series 2. One of the pipes is bocking a roof antenna position. the metal pipes contain wires. To cope for the variances Alstom will create a seperate set of documentation for the series 1 and series 2 IC3s. Alstom will probably do a new (detailed) survey on the series 11¢3, Alstom indicated the water in the floor of the MF5008 is a problem for the EVC, but ‘Alstom hasn't specified yet what the exact implications are of the water. DSB maintains the statement that this amount of water can incidentally be present inside the IC3 floors. ‘Approx. 810mm between halway and thumb \ [semm from ] evcbracket | \[eosminiron Eve ‘04mm from EVCin the 6L ALAS Asuunniiiny Hina Ths bracket is in by Alstom. Series varians: pipe with wires inside [Series varians: beam requiring Alstom to grill ahole Series varians: different size of call ‘Series varians:2 pipes instead of 1, conflicting with roof) antenna position Isolation between train structure and wooden flooris jsoaked with water. Hole in flear Mock-up © The hole in the floar concept has succesfully been demonstrated to BOK and DSB 9 There were hawever 5 points of concern with the design ard nstallation method 9 1.DSB remains ccncerned that the IPS8 sealing of the gaskets will degrade over time: and lat wator inside the sandwich structure 2 2. Alstom states thora's enough depth for the RADAR gackets, but that Alctom will havo tp create extra surfacejdepth for threads for the EBA gasket (which is larger), DSB i Concerned that it 1s not possible to create extra surface for threading and that there's to litle depth for threading in general © 3. 4lstom criled the hole using handhold drill with 30mm drill, The driled hole was erentualy 32mm due to the fact the hole was drilled without stablising the cri, This deviation is tna hig, The general requirement for meking thread is that the hale diameter may deviate mac + /-0,2mm, © 4 The hole has to be made in the right positon compared to the sandwich structure either on a Vcr on a). This pasition wes very hard to find even when a large part of the floor was removed, Taking into acount the circumstances on the actual hale locations tn the IC3 DSB is concarned Alstam will miss the right locations for the holes. 9 S.The drawings of the hole in the floor cesign so far showed = pppe the same diameter as the hole which closes the sandwich stucture, The ppe used in the mock-up was however much smaller then the hole which in effect opens the sandwhich structure ‘towards the conduit. DSB is concerned dust and water can enter the sandwich structure this way. DSB remains deeply troubled with the Alstom design and remains with their standpoint that Alstom's design cannot be accepted. ‘A drawing was shown from the train structure manufacturer Aluswiss which showed the ‘mechanical drawings of a cable pass through the floor as described by Aluswiss which confirmed DSB's standpoint that a welded pipe concept has to be implemented, ‘Metalic pipe’ doesn’t close off sandwich structure as| was depicted in dossier version C, but does align with| handwritten notes also from dossier version C inst HOTELS) ‘+ EBA cable temperature test ©The sensors are installed and ready for tomorrow's test drive © We couldn't install 2 conduits, in stead we adapted the test plan and installed only 1 (the ‘one without extra insulation). When the test shows the maximum temperature is ‘exceeded we need to do the test again with the conduit with extra insulation. The ‘change left us with 3 extra sensors which we used to create an extra measurement position. We now have 4 measurement positions instead of 3 and 2 reference sensors instead of 1. © Inagittion Finn brought 4 different kind of temperature sensors which were also installed in the 4 measurement positions. ‘We decided to not install the tube with the protection as Alstom didn’t wan without protection as seen from the engine. The 4 measurement points are: inside the tube and one is visible outside the t sensorswere fixed outside off the engine compartment to measure reference Best Regards/Med venlig hilsen Ton Rovers Installation Manager jetnbane Onboard Tesan Signalling Programme BANEDANMARK ‘Ameria Pads 15 DK-2100 Ksbenhavn @ 4561963172 Auouibanedk yaw banedanmark dk
