FORMAT OF SIMULATION LAB (SIMULINK) REPORT FOR CLASS SEMESTER SEPT 2017-JANUARY 2018
*DO THE LAB REPORT IN THE GROUP OF 2 OR 3 STUDENTS FOR EACH GROUP. *RESPECTIVE LECTURERS FOR EACH CLASS WILL DECIDE THE GROUP MEMBER, NOT THE STUDENTS.
TOTAL MARKS (125 MARKS)
1. CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION AND LITERATURE REVIEW (50 MARKS) Must include the following but not limited to:- i-state the objectives of this study (5) ii-type of processes self-regulating and non-self-regulating (5) iii-history of PID Controller (5) iv-PID controller theory and equation (5) v-brief description and definition of controller gain, integral time, derivative time and deadtime (5) vi-effect of increasing or decreasing value of P,I &D toward process response (5) vii-brief description and definition of performance measurement criteria :- settling time, overshoot, decay ratio, number of oscillations, rise time, period of oscillation, time of first maximum (10) viii-method to tune PID controller (5) ix- brief description and definition of set point test and load disturbance test (5)
2. CHEPTER 2: METHODOLOGY (10 MARKS)
Must include the following but not limited to:- -procedures for running the lab 1, 2, 3 & 4 (Effect of controller gain, effect of integral time, effect of derivative time, effect of deadtime) with block diagrams and set point test procedures. (10)
3. CHAPTER 3: RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS (40 MARKS)
Must include the following but not limited to:- i-results of all lab simulations including results of SP changes presented in graphs and tables form (10) ii-analysis all the results of performances based on performances measurement criteria:- settling time, overshoot, decay ratio, number of oscillations, rise time, period of oscillation, time of first maximum (20) iii-compare the results and state the reason behind those results (10)
4. CHAPTER 4: CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS (15 MARKS)
Must include the following but not limited to:- i-Includes overview of the report with concise statement summarizing the results. (5) ii- Accurately answers the objectives of the study.
