Comments and Suggestions:


Observation was during morning circle time and small group time. The morning
activities are part of the classroom routine with songs and counting and discussion
of how many days school has been in session.

The climate of the classroom is positive and respectful.

Pupils come quickly to attention. They direct themselves to tasks to be accomplished.

Small group included recognition of letters, both upper and lower case; matching of
sounds with letters and matching of letters to pictures that begin with that sound.
Pacing was good, materials readily available and students engaged.

Evaluation in the small group setting is ongoing. Teacher is able to assist and
reinforce student learning on an individual basis.

Overall Comments and Suggestions:


Ms. Duncan has done a good job during this practicum experience. She has put in as
many hours as possible and knows the students and routines well. A job well done!
