Students will read several forms of literature (articles,
magazine, books) and comprehend key details in a
text.
Given a Newsela article, students will correctly
identify key details by creating question and answers
for their peers to answer.

For students not performing on grade level, I will use
graphic organizers to help them choose topic, three
key points, setting, plot, problem and solution.
For gifted students, I will challenge them to create
their own graphic organizer and show key details
from the text.
