SIMOJOVEL
Simojovel de Allende is a town in the
mexican state of Chiapas. Curently known
for ita production of amber, more scarce,
exotic and therefore twince as expensive as
the baltic in simojovel, only 2 tons of amber
are produced annually, compared to 600
tons in the baltic sea.
Also amber colors are obtained different
from the conventional yellow (red, Green,
violet )
Simojovel is one of the 119 minicipalities of
Chiapas, in southern Mexico.
As of 2010, the municipality had a total population
of 40,297, up from 31,615 as of 2005. It conversa
an area of 446.99km2.
The municipality had 145 localities, the largest of
which ( with 2010 populations in paentheses)
were: simojovel de allende(10,762), the
municipal seat classified as urban , and pueblo
nuevo sitala (2,437), la pimienta (1,755), el
jardn (1,626), la ceiba (1,275), las maravillas
(1,204), and constitucin (1,103), classified
as rural.
