2. MAIN PROBLEM

What is the quality of the soil in different locations in Pasig City?

Are soils from unconventional sources (e.g. river side, creek side, vacant lot) can support and
sustain life, effectively?

3. RATIONALE

The importance of the study is that it gives plant growers in the locale of Pasig City soils that are
appropriate or best to their plants, and in which are supposedly free and easy to get. The researchers
also wanted to index the soil quality in different locations in Pasig City so that planters can use this to
have their plants an appropriate soil.

4. OBJECTIVES

to identify the current status of soil from different sources in Pasig City

to identify which location have the soil that is similar to the commercially sold soil

to know how location affects the quality of the soil

5. RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

a. A CASE STUDY OF SOIL NUTRIENT ANALYSIS OF PAUWA VDC by Ranjana Budhathoki

The study are almost similar to this study and their methods in chemical analysis will be
use in this study.

b. Soil Sampling and Analysis by J.L. Walworth

It gives tips and ways on analyzing the quality of the soil. It is also a basis to the included
chemical analyses.
