Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a copy of the notes that I’ve taken during the Social Studies Committee
meetings. This is a committee that I served on and I plan to continue to serve on. We
will focus on the new standards, creating essential standards and creating unit plans.
This artifact meets this standard because it shows that I take leadership and
responsibility for the 4th grade social studies team. This shows that I am implementing
strategies that support the student’s learning. This team meets as an Anderson team, a
Morris/Anderson team and a district team.

Reflection on the artifact:

I am very happy that I am on this committee. I really enjoy teaching Social Studies and
was becoming worried about the new standards and how I will teach them. When the
position of this committee came up, I jumped at the chance. I allows me to dive deep
into the standards and the teaching of the standards. By being on this committee, I will
feel more comfortable in teaching Social Studies and I will be able to relay this to my
team.
