4. Buildings that have weak foundations.
5. Lack of understanding of Landslides hazard
6. Lack of family Preparedness.
7. BDCC not organized.
B. Possible Risk Reduction Measures
1. Community Hazard and Risk Assessment.
2. Legislation and land use Regulation
3. Insurance
4. Community information and education
5.Monitoring warning and Evacuation system in place
6. Preparedness.
C. Recognizing Landslide Warning Sign
- These are areas for years that may not be vulnerable to landslides but as years and calamities
pass, the geology of the area changes. As a precaution, you must learn to recognize landslides
warning sign.
1. Before the occurrence of typhoon or heavy rainfall, familiarize yourself and know the soil
characteristics and history.
2. If your house is located near the landslide-prone slope, a visual investigation at the slope and
on top for any ground crack or fracture is necessary.
3. A prepared barangay hazard/risk information board must be posted.
4. Changes occur in your landscape such as pattern of storm water drainage on slopes.
5. Changes inside your house, doors or windows stick or jam for the first time
6. Slowly developing, widening crack appears on the ground or paved areas such as street or
