 ABSTRACT

Wastewater treatment plant treats water and distributes it with the help of pumps
motors pipes etc. Kaduna south plant is divided into four sections low lift chamber,
the sedimentation chamber, high lift chamber and the filtration chamber. The low
lift which is the intake section has four pumps, which pumps water gotten from the
source (River Kaduna) to the sedimentation basin for treatment process. The
filtration chamber filters water from the sedimentation chamber. The high lift
chamber distributes water to three buster stations of kakuri, U/mu'azu & Barnawa
buster stations. The low lift and the high lift chamber consist of different types of
pumps and valves with electric motor connected; they include the horizontal pump,
vertical pump, centrifugal pumps,
Electric motor installed with their starter panel which is used to control the motor
also installed with the motor are protection devices which protect the motor against
faults.
