Quarter 1 Field Trip Instructions

Challenger Center
Day Before Teacher Prep
❏ Print and cut name tags for all students.
❏ Collect name badge holders from previous teacher.
❏ Place name tags in name badge holders, or have name badge holders ready so
that students can quickly put them in the day before.
❏ Collect boxes to hold lunches
❏ Double check that you have a signed field trip form for EVERY student going on the trip
in a folder.
❏ Print your list of students from the Google Doc so you can check that they get on the bus
from Wheeler and from the Challenger Center.
❏ Print Post-Flight Debriefing/Dream is Alive Reflection materials.
❏ Contact any chaperones to brief on agenda.
❏ PLEASE REMIND STUDENTS TO BRING CLOSED TOED SHOES

Morning of:
❏ Make sure students have labeled their lunches (only group B will need to pack a lunch)
❏ Make sure students know whether they are Team 1 or 2, and Group A (starts in Mission
Control) or Group B (starts in Spacecraft)
❏ Take homeroom attendance in infinite campus AND on Google Doc.
❏ Students should leave all belongings (including bags and phones) in their homeroom
classes, which should remain locked until students return.
❏ Cheryl, Kim, Brett, please send students going on the field trip to their secondary
homeroom ASAP after taking homeroom attendance

Teachers - Bring the following items with you:

❏ Folder with signed field trip forms
❏ Bus List and Pen(s)
❏ Cell phone (Most teachers just bring their whole purse/wallet as well) with numbers of
other teachers on the trip as well as:
❏ School office number: (808) 305-9000
❏ Challenger Center Number: (808) 673-7410 (Liane Kim)
❏ Name tags for all students. (Team 1 should be wearing theirs already in the morning.
Team 2 can put them on when they are leaving to go to the Challenger Center.)
❏ Camera

❏ Be sure students know that they need to remain in their seats and keep their volume to a
speaking level at all times.
❏ Teachers, you may wish to spread out on the bus to provide presence.
