    Lot of Tourism Open Flight Routes to 'Sunrise of Java' City

    Various efforts were made, to increase the number of destination spots. In an effort to support the
    increase of foreign tourist.

    Not only the government, a number of airlines are also trying to work. As did Garuda Indonesia. Starting
    August 21, 2017, the airline will serve the flight Jakarta-Banyuwangi.

    President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Pahala N. Mansury, said that the flight route between Jakarta
    and Banyuwangi will make it easier for tourists to explore various other cities around Banyuwangi,
    including Jember, Bondowoso, Situbondo, Probolinggo and Lumajang.

    "Banyuwangi is the fourth city in East Java province that serve after the cities of Surabaya, Malang and
    Jember. We hope that with the choice of routes to various cities in East Java will further drive and
    improve the local economy, "said Pahala in a release received VIVA.co.id, Monday 31 July 2017.

    He explained in 2016 alone, the number of foreign tourists who come to Banyuwangi reach to 60,000
    people, while for domestic tourists about 2 million people.

    "With the number of tourists of that size we are sure that with the opening of the Jakarta-Banyuwangi
    route will increase tourism potential in the city called The Sunrise of Java," said Pahala.

    The Jakarta - Banyuwangi flight will be serviced daily using the next-generation Bombardier CRJ 1000
    NextGen (all economy class).

    The flight from Jakarta to Banyuwangi will be served by GA 264 which will depart from Jakarta (Soekarno-
    Hatta Airport) at 14.15 WIB, and will arrive at Banyuwangi (Blimbingsari Airport) at 15:55 pm. Then flight
    from Banyuwangi to Jakarta will be served by using GA 265 which will depart from Banyuwangi at 17.00
    WIB, and will arrive in Jakarta at 18:40 pm.

    Previously Garuda Indonesia has also served flights to Banyuwangi, namely Surabaya-Banyuwangi
    which is served twice a day using ATR 72-600 aircraft with a capacity of 70 seats (all economy class).

    The Jakarta-Banyuwangi flight completes the Banyuwangi-Denpasar flight route (via Surabaya) that has
    previously been served.
