INTRODUCTION

The Study Tour as per the curriculum was an exposure trip to a place of educational or historical
importance. A Report of tour has to be prepared by all student-teachers. The tour programme of
Bangalore institute of technology College of Teacher Education was planned for a day. It was a
journey from BIT College to Chikkaballapur. We covered Nadabrabu Kempegowda Statue in
airport road and Isha foundation in Chikkaballapur .

OBJECTIVES

The expected outcome includes providing situations for the student teachers to learn and get
acquainted with the process of organizing/conducting a study tour/field work and understanding
the environment around.

TOUR REPORT

We gathered in our campus at around 8:15 am. Started from the college at 8:45 am with the
guidance and company of our HOD Dr Chaitra Bocheer Madam and other teachers Dr Maesh
K and Dr K V Deepak Binu along with our all in all MBA 1st year Students. We reached our first
destination, NADABRABU KEMPEGOWDA STATUE at 10:0 am.

NADABRABU KEMPEGOWDA STATUE

The 'Statue of Prosperity' (Kannada - ಪ್ರಗತಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ) is the statue of the founder and architect of
the city of Bengaluru, termed widely as 'Nadaprabhu' Kempe Gowda (1510 - 1569), constructed
at the Kempegowda International Airport, in Devanahalli of Bengaluru. It was inaugurated by the
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, in the presence of Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister
of the state, and other delegates on the occasion of Kanakadas Jayanti. The statue was
recorded in the "World Book of Records" as the tallest bronze statue constructed for a founder
of a city. It also stated that it is 108 feet long with the sword weighing 4 tons.
Kempe Gowda is depicted in a standing position holding a sword in his right hand, above a 20
feet high reinforced concrete slabbing. The overall height of the statue is 108 feet, weighing
about 218 tonnes, sculpted using majorly steel and bronze which includes 120 tonnes of iron
and 98 tonnes of bronze.

It is constructed in a theme park of 23 acres around the area. With an overall construction cost
of 84 crores, the statue is a main attraction in the newly launched Terminal 2 (T2) of the
Kempegowda International Airport of Bangalore.
The statue has been installed at the International airport of Bangalore. It is sculpted by the
Padma shri awardee Ram.V Sutar who also holds credit for the construction of Statue of Unity
in Gujarat and Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Vidhana Soudha of Bangalore. The statue has
entered the World Book of Records as the "first and tallest bronze statue of a founder of a city”

ISHA FOUNDATION
ADIYOGI SHIVA STATUE

Situated in a vibrant natural setting near Nandi Hills, the Sadhguru Sannidhi Bengaluru is being
established as a powerful Sthana or center for inner transformation.

On 16 February 2022, the Sadhguru Sannidhi in Bengaluru witnessed its first-ever event.
Sadhguru was present at the Center and offered Bhoomi Pooja as part of the foundation stone
laying ceremony. He addressed the gathering about his vision for the Yoga Center, including the
consecrated spaces and the various offerings that will become available in the next few years.

The Sadhguru Sannidhi Bengaluru is located near Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district, 65
kilometers north of Bengaluru.

The Center is 45 km from the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (60-minute drive)
and 63 km from the Cantonment Railway Station, Bengaluru (80-minute drive).

Regular bus and taxi services are available from Bengaluru city to Chikkaballapur town.

CONCLUSION
It was such a great and extremely helpful day. I really enjoyed it and got so much from it. Many
thanks to all of the great staff and great volunteers who helped and put a fantastic day together
for all us new people. I enjoyed the food and entertainment, it gave me a chance to meet up
and chat with any new friends from my course.”
