CHANGEOVER_SCHEME

Manual mode of operation

In manual mode there are two states of bus possible, live-bus & dead bus.

Dead bus changeover should be completely manual. There should not be any type of
changeover when the bus is in dead state.

In the live state of bus in manual mode all changeover shall be through trip selection or sync
selection circuit provided all permissive healthy.

Trip selection circuit:

In the trip selection circuit when the particular incomer is selected for tripping then following
sequence of event should occur.

1. Any Incomer selected for tripping.


2. Bus coupler will close automatically on receiving trip selection contact.
3. Breaker closed contact of bus coupler (on feedback) should trip or open the selected
breaker.

Note-For a moment all the circuit will be parallel. (Incomer-1, incomer-2 & bus coupler)

Sync selection circuit:

In the sync selection circuit when the particular incomer is selected for synchronization then
following sequence of event should occur.

1. Any incomer selected for synchronization.


2. Selected incomer breaker should close on receiving sync selection contact.
3. On feedback of selected incomer will trip or open the bus coupler breaker .

Note-For a moment all the circuit will be parallel. (Incomer-1, incomer-2 & bus coupler)
AUTO mode of operation
In the auto mode of changeover, the changeover should take place in either condition
(in the case when bus is live and selected in auto)
Provided all permissive are healthy.

For incomer-1
1) Incomer-2 off feedback coming & no 86trip command for incomer-2 present.
2) Bus-coupler off feedback coming & no 86trip command for bus-coupler.

For incomer-2
3) Incomer-1off feedback coming & no 86trip command for incomer-1 present.
4) Bus-coupler off feedback coming & no 86trip command for bus-coupler.

For bus-coupler
5) Incomer-1off feedback coming & no 86trip command for incomer-1 present.
6) Incomer-2 off feedback coming & no 86trip command for incomer-2 present.
