Name of student : Sourabh Pandit

About

Title of the Dissertation is ‘ Why an Uproar over AIB’. The author of this dissertation is Neha
Bhosale as a 4th semester project for Msc in Communication Studies.
This Dissertation is to study the controversies, the kind of humor and ridicule in the context of
decency, public norm and moral issues within the video

Relevance of the topic

The topic chosen by the researcher is about reaction of the society or people who watched that
certain video, and many controversies around that video. The researcher chose the topic
because she thinks that the comedy is going mainstream and in India, Roast was an envelope
pushed by AIB in comedy, by introducing “insult humor”.

I think it is justified because, in India the comedy in the movies has been there since always.
The video is about roast, which means criticizing someone really very much, in this case the
celebrities as well as the AIB team.
The amount of abuse and humor created in this video tells us about some people who want to
talk it out in front of people who would love to take a laugh. And I think It is justifying because
this video made almost 6 million views in less than 1 week, which makes it the number one
reason to be researched because in entertainment field what interests the masses should be
researched and should be studied, the responses of the viewers were both negative and
positive about the content in the video, and it was first of its kind video which created so much
sensation.
