Who:
Two teachers at Leaguetown High School; Mr. Fred Lipton and Ms. Ana
Hernandez
What:
Students Ivan Massen and Mark Nepo were left behind as their school
bus left them at Six Flags during a field trip for students with perfect
attendance. However the bus did return once Mr. Lipton was notified
by a phone call. This incident is being handled by school boards and
lawyers and the possibility of these two teachers being fired is at risk. A
hearing will occur to hear the public and a decision will be made.
When:
Saturday, May 12, 2012
Where:
Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington
Why:
The school bus was scheduled to depart at 7 PM and everyone was
tired and worn out so nobody did roll call. The two students weren’t
present at departure time and arrived 45 minutes later, when the bus
had already left. Ivan Massen’s mother had the phone number to Mr.
Lipton and had made a phone call to inform that her child and his friend
were still at Six Flags.
